It looks almost as if this place was cursed by a god to be short and dry. The trail leads east and west. It looks dark toward the east. The gloom caused by them is enhanced by a draft coming from all around. The trail turns south from the west. Off to the side of the scarcely visible trail, there is a rather large berry bush. The woods are thickly packed, too dark and too dense to see more than a few paces within. Strange noises of animals - at least you think they are animals - carry from deep within the woods. Scattered along the road, you find the remnants of steel-tipped arrows.
Most shafts are snapped, others are missing, and a few appear to be gnawed through. You remind yourself it is nothing to be concerned of, merely childish stories, yet you quicken your step without realizing it. The plains extend to the horizon to the east, the clouds moving off to the northwest. The road continues along the edge of the woods to the east, and across the plains to the west.
