1)In the room where pkill happens, it will appear a little tombstone. For example, when someone enters that room, he will see 'a small tombstone near road, covered with dust' or if tombstone is in forest 'a small mound overlaid with moss'. And when somebody curious looks at tombstone, he can see writting ' Here lies 'blabla' [the name of hero who died], slayed by 'another blabla' . Writtings can vary depending on class and clan whose member he was.
(And yes, in some rooms pkill happens much often, and in that case, there wouldnt be several tombstones, there could be only one, with list of those who died)
2) I understand the next idea is hard to realise, but i will give a shot anyway. How about to make traders offer in stores not the same for everyone... For example, one person sees some items, some other person with haggle mastered, with maybe new skill trading or maybe with some new feat, will see much better items offer from merchants. Also if you buy more and more, the reputation at merchant will become better and that will give chance for better items or lower prices... But of course, items will still be more or less common, nothing extra to make one overpower just because he is good with merchants.
(in fact, this maybe does not need much coding, just copy/paste code for random item popping and a bit modifying so items at merchant depend on haggle, trading and feat instead of artifact find)
