Title: abjurers

I've been thinking lately that invokers/alters/necromancers have a lot of manuals/books to make them more powerfull. But for abjurer, there is very little spells being availalbe, the ones I know are:
improved armor - crap
improved shield - crap
hold person - decent

Am I missing something? What I am thinking about, that there is a little for abjurer's development in terms of spellbooks/manuals.

Here are my ideas for new manuals/spellbooks:

1. Summon astral servitor
This spell summons an astral servitor from one of the other planes. Servitor will assist it's master in battle. The exact type of servitor depends on caster's alignment.
Evil - fire imp  - casts fireball, hell ball
Neutral - faery - casts lightning bolt, fork lightning
Good - nymth - casts tsunamy, earthmaw

The idea is to give some firepower to abjurers, which wont be too high

2. book - mana gathering, this this manual, abjurer can create temporary storage of mana in astral. When spell is cast, there is chance of mana spent going to this storage, instead of disappearing. Caster then can absorb the mane in storage.

3. manual of imroved phase control
With this manual, abjurer will be able (on success) merge both blink and displacement. Also, this skill is used on check with shapeshift skill, if both blink/displ passed phase control skill.

4.1 spellbook of twist body (silly name, I know)
With this spell, caster influence the internal organs of victim, causing various deseases and injuries.
Means that victim can start bleeding, poisoned, plagued, -str, -dex, -con. Can be cast once e.g. 5 hours.

4.2. spell book of twist head
Almost same as above, but instead of body, head is harmed. Victim can become blind, -int, -wis, difficult to cast spells (probably as confusion) or become insane.

5. manual of control astral body. With this skill, user will find it more easier to come and get in astral, as his body will be able to sustance transfer more quickly

I can think something else if imms are intrested...

I like your idea with Summon astral servitor very much. =)

I think abjurers should use their ability to walk in other planes in more different ways.
I will think about it.. Lets shake up our Imms and they give some new books for abjurers =)

no use from improved armor and shield? -80 to AC isn't so damn bad.
