Title: Re: Show us your boo-- err uh.... PETS! Post by: Lizzy on March 07, 2007, 05:04:59 pm This is pet nos 1. Her name is Chicken, and she is an Indian Ring neck parrot. I hand raised her myself, and no, I didn't call her Chicken because of her color, but because of the noise she used to make when I would be feeding her.

The over sized rat looking thing with him is daughters dog, called Nitro. Now, HE is the watchdog of the family. Our dog, Buster, lets people through the gate no worries. I just tell everyone - Yes, he is friendly. He will let you in, but just try getting out the gate. LOL the look on their faces is wonderful. Of course he lets them out. When our eldest granddaughter (3 yo) visits, she is terrified of him, but is terrified of all dogs. Now, when the second eldest granddaughter (2 yo) comes to visit and stay BUSTER runs away and hides, because she bosses him around, and chases him. Buster is around 8 yo. He belonged to our son who was killed 6 years ago, so we have inherited him, but I fell in love with this bandy legged puppy and his stick tail when I first saw him as a puppy. He is the biggest baby (sigh) yes, he even sleeps in the bed with us. I know I know, people are horrified but he is such a baby. Title: Re: Show us your boo-- err uh.... PETS! Post by: Lizzy on March 10, 2007, 02:05:20 am This was my little dog, Chloe. She was 16 yo (human years) and blind at this age. I had to take her to the vet day before Mothers Day this year, as she had a stroke. So she was put to sleep. Broke my heart, as she was such a loving little girl.

When she was brushed and all dressed up (so to speak) she was gorgeous. sh*tzu's are really loving and faithful dogs. I want another one, but at the moment, we have way too many animals (30+ finches, 2 quails - just sold the babies, now she is sitting on more eggs - and 5 love birds, 1 lorikeet, and my baby Chicken, the Indian Ring Neck. ) Yeti *chuckles* my poor baby. Title: Re: Show us your boo-- err uh.... PETS! Post by: Sirrion on March 12, 2007, 09:09:16 am "Putting to sleep" means paralyzing of all muscles, it seems for a human that the poor animal is sleeping, but it just can't move and breath, and dies of suffocation. The veterinars definitely should check it on themselves. *growls*
