Title: Half-elf stats Post by: Sir Solan on March 04, 2007, 02:12:03 am Well, with the recent changes to int and wis for gnomes vs elves, half-elves kinda drew the short straw...
Max int was reduced to 21, and max wis raised to 22, which resulted in 11% less per practice, but the same number of practices/level, so just general weakening. What I propose is to give half elves part of the adaptability of their human parentage, from a basis reflecting their mixed blood (yes, I know, CF has this implemented, but I actually think it's a good idea). IE, give them base stats of something like Str 19, Int 21, Wis 21, Dex 21, Con 19, and then +2 in the main stat of their class. This way, they'll still demonstrate a mix of human and elven blood, by having a result between the two, but be able to customize a bit thanks to their human ancestry. (And yes, I was particularly upset at losing 2 int at the same time as int began to affect power of spells, but I was thinking of this before, thanks to playing CF when Solace was down for a year). Added: This could definitely apply to half-kender as well (with a different basis, obviously) Title: Re: Half-elf stats Post by: Rialon on March 04, 2007, 11:40:53 am My half-elf supports this entirely! ;D
And by the way, some of us lost trains due to the change. ::) Title: Re: Half-elf stats Post by: Nuitari on March 04, 2007, 01:16:34 pm Your wish... is granted. Same principle also applies to half-kenders.
Grab at next reboot or crash near you. Title: Re: Half-elf stats Post by: Rialon on March 04, 2007, 07:24:11 pm Great, thanks a bunch Nui!

Thankyouthankyou, you're awesome! Now my half-elf mage won't be 1 int above a kender mage. ::) Title: Re: Half-elf stats Post by: Raider on March 05, 2007, 09:46:32 am You forgot to mention that half-elves and half-drow in cf have quiet movement instead of sneak, which is much worse, and a decent vuln to iron/silver ^^
