Title: majere priest Post by: Kage on April 24, 2007, 10:28:15 pm There already have been some talks of priest and having issues for awhile. But most are stomped out by mace swing being an amazing skill. This is true.. now majeres were changed and I love'm Ive made three. But no mace swing which is fine but our only hold alternative is swipe..which half the time attempts to disarm which is fine again. But the lag created on the priest is so great I wonder if it even helps on a successful leg swipe which also is unlikely because flight prevents success. This is also complicated by not being able to attempt while mounted which is any priests aid for survival being mounted. So when I have dismounted swiped and made the person fall I need to try and quickly strike on the ground or attempt to remount before they flee. if I strike unmounted my damage suffers because no enh dam. and if I try and mount there gone. If this a balancing issue due to skills granted to them let me know. as I see it loss of shield block for flowing block Im not sure on either. what is happening when the enemy is put off balance? and could the effect be more like a weapon turn since when they do attempt to attack their own it is rare and ineffective. maybe it could work like a weak blade barrier. judo like move that makes them hit themself. Sorry to ramble. So maybe swipe can not work like slow leg sweep. maybe make it not leg dependant. a staff to the gut could hold just as a swipe to the leg could then at least there is a chance to hold, cuz everyone can fly without much trouble cept herecy I guess. I only bring up flowing block due to loss of good stats for shields that a majere cant use. dragon shield, acid mouth shield etc.
In conclusion. what does anyone think of swipe either : working mounted, or affecting flying char., or seperated into two skills (one that holds and one that disarms), or lower dam. and make it fast like bash. And Since no shield. tweak flowing block to work on one mob and hit like b. barrier but weaker, or like weapon turn. to add to their monk like rp. dont be shy tell me how way off I am or agree... Title: Re: majere priest Post by: Matthew on April 25, 2007, 01:35:42 am From what ive seen from the recieving end Majere priests are pretty cool, but im not sure if all the skills i have seen are Majere or Cobar. But i hate that face strike that blinds, its much better than dirt kicking. Other than that i agree, i fear nothing from a majere priest, cept maybe faerie fire at the moment. :P
Title: Re: majere priest Post by: Kage on April 25, 2007, 04:26:03 am yup. like I said I love'm still, strike is awesome I cant contest that. And there defensive I understand this too they just need one more thing that could irritate some enemies. or just tweak existing I suppose. someone smarter then me make majpriest and tell me what they think.
Title: Re: majere priest Post by: Kage on April 29, 2007, 02:14:23 pm this is not so much an idea as an update to my orig. post.
I have had some pk experience with Kazo...and I see with some cunning, Majere is a skilled defender. As I wish I had the log of him defending the corral from Two solamnics, the veteran eventually fell but I think all parties involved were a but surprised at the undertaking it was. ( by the way I use gmud, whats a good frontend that can record logs well?) though if kazo could have had a hold skill one knight would have fell. *begs for skill*. jk. Anyway just wanted to take back a lil bit of previous quasi-whining. maybe just a hold skill that does no damage big lag like swipe at least to help a bit on pk. ps. if either of the two solamnics that raided that day have a log of it Id appreciate a look at it. Title: Re: majere priest Post by: Proph on April 29, 2007, 06:25:33 pm I can only reccomend Zmud from www.zuggsoft.com (http://www.zuggsoft.com). I use an older version (4.62) that I found at some fansite and find it suits my needs just fine for logging, triggers, etc.
Title: Re: majere priest Post by: Matthew on April 29, 2007, 06:40:21 pm The best mud client ever written is jmc! But seriously if you like your gmud, jmc is the best wintin based client out there. http://www.geocities.com/jmc_client/index.html
Title: Re: majere priest Post by: Sir Solan on April 29, 2007, 07:27:06 pm Yep, I'll second that opinion of JMC. Excellent for all purposes (at least that I'm aware of)
And it's available off the Solace website, under: Files -> Mud Clients Title: Re: majere priest Post by: Quino on April 29, 2007, 09:58:52 pm By the way, there's a new jmc 3.28 with #if .. then.. else support and much much more.
Title: Re: majere priest Post by: Kolin on April 30, 2007, 12:25:28 am Majere priests seem just a toned down Misha with some unique staff skills. Nothing too dangerous.
My thought would be flowing block also works as a ripost type skill. I don't think seperating strike would be bad either. Or allow direction: Syntax: Strike <eyes> Drizzt, Strike <Legs> Drizzt etc. Two small changes will put them on par with Pala, or Kiri I would think Title: Re: majere priest Post by: Matthew on April 30, 2007, 01:32:21 am If you read russian you can get 3.28, else get 3.26. Also 3.28 seems to draw slower.
Title: Re: majere priest Post by: Quino on April 30, 2007, 12:59:25 pm I don't like russian interface in jmc so I had to make 3.28 english. Just edit
Code: jmc.ini Title: Re: majere priest Post by: Matthew on April 30, 2007, 02:15:02 pm Evil
Title: Re: majere priest Post by: Moon_Face on May 02, 2007, 10:47:39 am Healing Sleep should be offensive empower. Don't you think so?
That is not idea, just dragonlance books. Title: Re: majere priest Post by: Matthew on May 30, 2007, 08:20:37 am Erm it doesnt work btw, no 'language.ini'.
Title: Re: majere priest Post by: Quino on May 30, 2007, 05:44:58 pm Uh... don't know what's wrong.. Here it is, latest jmc (entitled 3.28, however there's a 3.5 in version) english with my favourite font Terminus, excellent for long-time stay near monitor.
