Title: Saves system

Ok,, since i consider myself a newbie, i have a newbish question: what good are saves at all?
I get blinded thru 50 will saves a bit more harder than thru 15 will saves... So what is the point? Not to mention that such kind of blindness is uncancelable.

Saves seem to work just fine for me. Try going to fight some reasonably high-level casting creature where you are dressed in saves eq and your group member isn't. Note the differences.

I admit reflex saves don't seem to work as well as I'd hoped against physical attacks (fireball etc), but other saves against poison, blindness and such seem to function just fine. Certain creatures because of their rank can blind you easily through 50ish saves, but that's no reason not to dress for saves imho.

I thought old saves system made a lot of maledictions completely useless at high ranks and that's one of the reasons it was changed. Maybe find a balance between old and the new?

I forgot to mention the first time: I got blinded thru 60+ will saves as well - was teamed with a knight (bless, lightshield, leadership)... The next question would be how much will saves would be enough not to get blinded? I mean, i spectral guardians are nasty, but i don't see them as high-rank mobs since they are ONLY guardians...
Which saves energy drain/wither checks?

Old system is negative saves. Like you need to have -80 svs to be guarded against simple spells. -100 to be guarded against other spells.

Yes, if you get that high svs you're nearly immune to maladictions, but at those time you didnt get half of your saves from spell up(bless, protection, lightshield, eldritch etc). So to be protected you needed gear.

Right now mobs save from your spells and pierce your saves too good.

Not sure how is it in PK right now, i almost dont play casters

I remember how i was blinded cursed and summoned in closed room near Takhisis keep through 120 old saves. So previos system will not help you to avoid blind.

In the old sistem, one could blind mob of the same rank easily, and blinded mob was almost unable to hit you because of blindness. Now you can blind mob fast if you take all three empowers spell feats. Though blindness is powerful thing for pk. On mobs, sometimes blind suceeds from the first try, sometimes from 10th.
I think 50 saves should not make one immune to blindness, but it should prevent to be blinded from first try. But if mob rank is much higher saves do not help much, i would say from battleing warlocks for example.

NPC saves were reduced by half.

Chance to save vs NPCs spells was increased by 15%.
