Title: Warriors thing
Post by: Matthew on September 10, 2007, 01:09:58 pm
I thought maybe it would be cool for a warrior to be able to put a few weapons in his 'scabbard' regardless of how 'powerful' they are. At the moment i think unless you choose spears or staff and hth you must carry way to many weapons just to have a small variety of damage types.

2 or 3 slots to store weapons only to powerful?

Yes it would.   :o

 You are carrying:
( 2) a Frostbrand sword
the arm of a forest wyrm
     a poison-dripping steel flail
tanned hide of the underground beast
( 2) (Glowing) a platinum signet ring
     a leather backpack
     (Humming) an elegant elven longsword
( 2) (Glowing) a bright shimmering potion
( 2) (Humming) a blood-encrusted morningstar
( 2) a darkened sabre

That is what my current warrior can carry, 2 cold damage swords, 2 physical maces plus a junk one i had just picked up and was cursed. 2 acid swords, an energy sword a physical flail, and using energy whip/with shield. i am holding only 2 potions, both are very short sanctuary, if i want to hold a cure blind potion or a cure poison/plague, maybe a potion of return etc what exactly would you have me drop? I guess its ok for people to cleave, pwk, and assassinate and thats not too powerful, but having some more inventory space is just waaaay over the top eh? What is your reasoning?

switch to nonlimited.
frostbrand -> harbringer
phys flail -> iron studded or windsinger whip
maces -> massive blue fish
acid swords -> nightmares or from silvanesti

The difference in ave is insignificant.

Besides, why do you need frost and phys limited weapons? Both are not very useful damtypes.

More inv space is not overpower, but unneeded and not logical.
I'd prefer change of dual wielding system.
'wield' for mainhand and 'dualwield' for offhand.
Weapon switching is quite troublesome.
Plus weight issue if you lack weaponmastery.

Well, i only have the two frost swords only because i haven't been able to replace them yet, and none of those weapons you suggest will do at hero rank, if i were spear spec'd id have very nice weapons all round already but im not and thats one of my points. I don't see why its not logical, explain? Why do you say it is not needed, i just pointed out a need for it. . .

Do you run around using non-limited weapons on your warrior at hero ranks expecting to win fights alone? And please remember when you answer that not everyone is lucky enough to score every good limited damage type weapon they need. The game should not be about knowing every little detail so that you can pick and choose every piece of equipment and feat to make a character just right in one or two peculiar ways.

I have absolutely slaughtered decked warriors and outcasts with great weapons, on a character that of course doesn't need to carry them, there are many classes that do not need to carry more than one or two weapons, It IS logical that warriors and even some others should have some of this advantage also. This is a simple and quick solution and it seems to me no one who replies even really thinks about it before doing so.

Mattthew, Vasw used to kill hordes of people with his Ajraah, dressed in unlimitd eq with two nightmare swords :)
And he was 35, indeed

And my personal opinion is - adding more space will help astral-hiding eq storers :)

Perhaps you should read my post, last i saw no warriors could hide in astral. And i fought Ajraah and cohort alone several times with several characters and never died. If you died to trash naked Ajraah team your wrong.

IMHO it is wrong for warrior to have all damage types of all his specs. You can have all useful damage types for one weapon or all damtypes combined from 3 specs easily. And get unlimited sanc potions instead.

the arm of a forest wyrm
tanned hide of the underground beast

I'd prefer change of dual wielding system.
'wield' for mainhand and 'dualwield' for offhand.

that would be GREAT, because now you can never be sure what you about to wield :-/
especially for noobs (as I am) who's messing for hours with their 4 crappy guns and still cant get how to combine it

Its not logical for a man to carry 10 swords, Matthew, dont you think so?

another great thing would be CF feature of 'examine'.
So you dont lore(mana, time) things to find out if its twohanded, if its staff or spear, its weight and other obvious things.

examine halberd

A fine steel halberd is a twohanded spear, made of steel, weights 3 pounds.

(weight of weapons is another issue..)

I never suggested you be able to carry 10 swords! Funny enough, if your a kender you can anyway!

Why spam every topic when you have no good reason anyway?

Err... I do not spam in every topic. Besides, that is exactly what you are suggesting, because right now the amount is enough, i've had enough warriors to say that. No class in game is capable of dealing serious damage of ALL types. It is fine, if there are limitations for warriors too.

Well, my hiding-in-astral-kender is not carrying any swords! Just a few unlimited hoopaks! More like 10!  :D

Also, storage room has more place on higher ranks, so there is no need to increase it size for any class... Rationalisation of the available space would do!

I still think it would be to powerful   (http://tesla.rcub.bg.ac.yu/~maverik/Smiles/crazy.gif)

But its not to powerful for other classes who do not need preps so much to walk around with 4-5 sanc orbs, a few heal potions, some displacement orbs and haste potions?
