Title: Mace swing
Post by: deda on November 06, 2007, 05:26:28 pm
While fighting a certain priest, ::) I noticed that she can swing mace every other round but the the lag it produced when she threw me to the ground was... let's call it "stackable" with the lag I get from using my own skills which sounds logical, but at the same time she wasn't lagged at all and was able to flee whenever she wanted... I.E. when I use throw+ground control it lags me more than the victim, if I miss I still get the lag. Mace swing seems like thrust - no lags and very few misses, except thrust doesn't lag victims... Also, mace swing lag seems cumulative with itself... If you manage to smash someone down for two consecutive rounds it makes him/her lag 4 rounds or more... This sounds too confusing even for me!
The punchline: she was able to lag me more (mostly because of my own skills lag)than I was able to lag her and we're talking about priests! Two swinging priests lag more that two hth speced warriors!

mobprogs do not affect mobs lagging. This is just normal, they do not exactly 'type' commands, so these programs simulate lag by not executing too often. And the mobprogs are independent from each other, so they can activate in the same round, producing multiple 'casts' or such an effect like you just described about fleeing.

Player lag is cumulative, whatever causes lags they count as time, not as sources. Say you made a cast a 2-round lagging spell, and got say crushed, yo lag for three rounds instead of two. If you would be crushed once more within these three rounds, that one round lag will add to whatever remained within the game, effectively appearing as four-round lag. This is the way how several players using skills that lag an opponent can make an 'endless' lag against one player yielding a punchbag and a loot.

Its not exactly cumulative, player lag.

If you get two bashes in 1 round - you get 1 round lag, not two. Thus one of the bashes was wasted.
If you get 1 bash each round - you have good chances to die.

Yes so, If you throw someone and get smashed in the same round, as your throw lag is longer than mace swing all you will lag for is the throw, if you get smashed at the end of lag from throwing someone, you will lag the full period mace swing will normally lag you for...

I don't see any bugs here. Lag is correctly calculated and adjusted. And there is a limit to which a player can be lagged.
