Title: Dummies

Perhaps it's time to legalize mastering by placing a few unaffected dummies in glade of beginners with stats equal to gray cat but not following. The gray cat is fought by someone most of the time.

And I remember when I were mastering Rayne I went into a far place and summoned the gray cat there. A fifteen minutes there were already three of us fighting the cat, Rayne and two newbie chars unknown to me.

Must be time to give the grey tabby a big unblockable attack like the orange one!

I agree to Geryon. At the moment mages/priests are much easier to master than fighterlikes, though helps say just the opposite.

Stop putting warrior type characters in groups with others and ranking as fast as possible and you will notice you need no cats to skill on...

If you stop putting warrior types in groups how will we poor clerics rank ourselves?! ???

Yeah. We cant do it in a normal way. Lets do in a stupid twisted way.

mastering on triggers > solo exping. Solo exping sucks in any way, way too boring.

That's what I am talking about. Players won't do boring things, like exping solo or, say, master a char with their own hands instead of using triggers. It's very mind draining.

There is another part of a problem.

Immortals try to fight AFK triggering chars, but to the best of what purpose? I don't understand. Immortal team prohibits leaving characters mastering AFK, but what should I do instead? Mastering a char to full even not from 1% takes an immense period, a minimum of few days raw time. Should I stare blankly into mudclient screen watching those "%...skill improves" and "you learn from your mistakes..." for endless hours?

To be honest, I was leaving my chars mastering AFK since 1999, with a loud MP3 file triggering the string "An Unseen God %1". And I am leaving them mastering AFK, because I see no point in SCORCHING the screen with my gaze when nothing interesting is apriori going to happen the nearest 100 hours of real time.

and I do not agree.
You're trying to cut out the danger of afk-mastering. We all hate those morons who like to kill all who is afk and just master his spells/skills. But its a part of the game too and it must be so. If you dont want to be killed - watch your character or use brains how to write some wise trigges and choose wise place.

P.S.: Хватит уже окончательно убивать старый злой пк-солас. Благодаря усилиям многочисленных пендосов солас УЖЕ песочница в какомто смысле, не стоит окончательно добивать. Моё мнение.

Although I agree that possibly warriors' skills could be made a bit more easy to practice. But then warriors should not whine when they find themselves always inferior to the learned mages.

P.S. Agreed with unreal. Maybe translate all his words to English?
"Пендосов" только ни к чему приплетать, в песочницу солас превращали многие.

Who said anything about being killed? I'm talking about Immortals punishing those who's mastering AFK. If we place dummies in glade of beginners, that will in no way adjust the danger of being killed while AFK.

I doubt immortals still punish (at least strictly) for this. They may give a cat the sharpened claws or something.
Look around yourself. You can find 2-3 trigger-driven zombies almost any time. Do you still think imms punish someone?

> If we place dummies in glade of beginners, that will in no way adjust the danger of being killed while AFK.

Aye, this will just give a safe and reliable way to master everything. Why not just set all skills below 10 rank to 100% then?

I haven't been punished for this for ages already and haven't heard of it. Zombies are everywhere too. But it's written in newbies section by your hand: http://solace.i-read-you.ru/forum/index.php/topic,3916.0.html (http://solace.i-read-you.ru/forum/index.php/topic,3916.0.html).

If current Immortal team is really tolerant to AFK mastering, maybe it's a time to proclaim this at forum too.

- agreed.  Though I am one of those morons..who kills morons who trigger their whole life to hero and rarely use this rare trigger  "say..."  This is because this is not punished anymore as some people claim.  When you  master that way you roll the dice and see what happens.  I have done it both ways, both are irritating and they should be...but the benefit of mastered skills should be gained by some sort of discipline or at least cunning as unreal said.  Either be disciplined enough to master waiting in line at your precious kitty ... or make some sneaky trigger that flees and recalls when you dont respond to my poking.
Here comes a rant. Characters get made with a 5 line description and interact with not a soul put on notell, head right to the cat, hit 25th rank in one day after full mastered skills..and all the sudden they hate magic...or they hate elves...or they say " I am the law "(give it a rest judge dredd).  Fine whatayahgonado.  But then to go the extra mile and get frusterated that after you summon the cheapy cat someone else shows up, the nerve of them to ruin the perfect sweep of a powerleveled character.
Lets just put a coin in the slot and a random generated, mastered, ready made clan character squirts out and we all just go at it...why waste the time, excruciating pain and turmoil of executing 3 key strokes for our battle triggers and mastering.  Have these chars  have alien AI and just throw them in a pit and watch them like some D&D cock fighting.

Immortals nowadays will likely not transfer you to RoD and deny, but sometimes they switch into mob and attack you. If you are AFK, you may be killed. So the punishment is just less harsh, but mastering AFK is still against the rules. Not to mention it ruins the RP environment and turns the idea "spend your time and get a more powerful character" into a perversion "pay for additional megabytes of senseless traffic and get a more powerful character". Just like rolling stats in old days.
Yes, if you are experienced intelligent player, you will likely prefer to spend your time for writing a really nice set of triggers instead of staring into a screen and hitting a key. It is all right as well, at least until there comes a situation you did not foresee and the behaviour of your smart zombie becomes inadequate.

Very interesting discussion.
I can add that one of us still punishes for AFK-triggering hard. I personally do not like when I drop a tell (or take to RoD) and a person still casts something. I prefer to see triggers to be turned off at this moment or a link to be zapped.
Those who have good triggers win here :-)
Yes, we need to make it clear for you and for Immortals. Thanks for this theme rising. I will follow up with it, may be we will change rules or change a cat or change something else after that :-)

But.. forgot to add... I will punish those who kills afk-chars 5-10 times in a row. One of them is in my PK list already ;-)
