Title: lash and bash Post by: deda on April 15, 2008, 08:38:48 pm when lashing a player's mount while player riding it, the rider is not thrown off the mount like it should...
concerning bash: when fighting blinded against mounted opponent and trying to bash, there's a message "They are mounted to high" and the mount becomes virtually unbashable. Title: Re: lash and bash Post by: Hiddukel on April 15, 2008, 11:01:13 pm I had some small experiences with rangers in time past *cough* Don't ever remember lash knocking people from mounts, never :) Lash already ignores protective shields and has nice chance of successes IMHO
About bash, don't know, lets wait Kiri- seems like you can't target mount direct if blind. Maybe command "bash" should have a chance to hit mount when you are blind, but maybe not... Title: Re: lash and bash Post by: deda on April 15, 2008, 11:48:33 pm then the message should change, because you're not sending someone to the ground...
Lash is a skill for whip/flail weapon specialists. The whip or flail is used to trip up an opponent and knock them to the ground. help file as well. Title: Re: lash and bash Post by: omledufromage on April 16, 2008, 04:12:54 am Here's my opinion:
If you bash... you bash... If your blinded, you bash what is in front of you... If it is possible or not, you will find out after you have tryed. If there is a dude mounted, you will bash the mount obviously, because it is there to be bashed. Imagine yourself fighting a guy on a horse, you close your eyes and charge at him with your shoulder attempting to knock him down. No divine intervention will appear showing "he is to high to be bashed"... You will just hit the horse and whamo! ;D And in theory, lash should be able against someone mounted. Imagine you lash someone with your whip while he is mounted, your whip catching him and wrapping around him, then you pull him and he falls down off his horse. Of course it is more difficult then lashing a unmounted foe... but it is possible. And much more easier then lashing a horse, or war elephant, etc. Title: Re: lash and bash Post by: Kage on April 16, 2008, 06:22:26 am Quote If there is a dude mounted, you will bash the mount obviously, because it is there to be bashed - if you cant see...you just attack the target that would be in your prompt engaged with you. You rush thinking ur gonna hit the mounted rider..but instead clumsy run into the horse unexpectedly...not a bash imho. It would make more sense in that situation that "pull" skill would work better if you targetted the rider. As for lashing a mount...picture a horse galloping toward you and you lash his legs..tangling them up..this makes more sense to toss a rider then hoping to make a trick indiana jones whip lash around his ankle somehow. |
