Beasties should have at least some yuimmy things. And having something that works under all conditions (i.e. shaking your booty behind inner guardian's protective back) makes game pretty boring. If it was beast assassin, you should have received a message like "BeastAsssassin dashes in the room!" or something sort of. Shadows assassins shouldn't have any chance to strangle you under inner guard.
