Title: Uh, oh... no logs... cause of...
Post by: ezus on October 28, 2008, 07:24:55 pm
First time i met a company of Kjerak (knight!), Carlo (some sort of daddy seems, cleric of reorx), Kassshe (alteration trans) in tunnels of sla-more. Sort of fast battle, Kossshe dead, am retreated cause of some injuries. No log though.
Today i found Carlo in Caergoth - he quit right after i attacked the guild. Ok. No log too.
Now i found proud knight Kjerak and Rulgub (kender mage, seeker of adventures).
So. What i saw...

well kjerak fled and then quit because he cannot fight you. mind is too slow.

just fyi he did not wait for you in areas and then recall...you simply caught up with him because of his slow mind...i am sorry if you thought poorly of Kjerak after this episode...but i dun think i can help it... :'(

anyways...there are some types of knights...and there are other types of knights... ;)

apart from a short trip to sla mori to look at something, kjerak visited it again.

Ok, I own up to that one.  Stinky old kender fighter, had no good things - I just wanted to see how it was.  But you have to admit that kill was way too easy by Lielen.  Show the whole thing!  Typical sleep, malediction, two hit kill.  Kenders and fighters too hard for me anyway.  Not my style.

yep, i didnt say it was hard for me or something like that.. and noone item was taken.. but delete right after fight isnt good  :( if i knew i'd never even run near your kender, i'm not even talkin about attack..  ;) everytime i'm going to attack someone i hope to see adequate reaction..

I know you didnt take items (hehe, unless you ate all those steaks I picked up), and I dont like to just delete chars either, but as much difficulty as I had with that foolish kender...  Just an experiment and it was too much work for me.  I just cannot play that race.

Not to worry though.  You will get yours soon enough.  :)  I have had my eye out for Lielen for a bit, timing has just been bad...  ;)

Qhoren took nothing of Koshhhe items, even coins were safe.

It was Ladan, not Kjerak in sla-mori first time... Still also knight.

Koshhhe is abjuration.

Last thing - its easy to claim somebody wimpy while playing superior character. Take unclanned asssassin against knight ?

Pb Koshhhe.

arre, read the log carefully... very carefully...

Title: Re: Uh, oh... no logs... cause of...

reread it. noticed nothing new. probably you will point what you mean ?

my idea is that if you want fights - create gnome fighter. Or invoker.

Make heretic at heroes or morgion at middle rank and place logs of mighty victories over single chars or groups that can do little to you - its a bit boring. opposite sides are to be of roughly equal power, it is requirement for battle to be interesting.

you obviously don't have much experience playing assassins... oh, well, you'll learn someday.

to the guy playing knight: do not use flaming, freezing, energy and physical weapons against assassins. As ezus told me once: against assassin or thief, wield staff, mount and overhead. NO WRATH!

just do not fight unraided heretics :)

and wrath all other assassins and evil thieves, it works nice.

damn... nowadays knight can easily overdamage ANY heretic without any troubles... *smirk*

2arre: this depends of player beyond the character. imho. And seems you're not that one. imho again.

Only one hit from heretic per round...i didnt expect that knights can block so good (hasted though). So from this log we see that class of knight is performing ok.
Slow and wrath were Greater mistakes :). Maybe lunge if nothing else.
Also damage from assasin was not very high...
And the only thing that ocupies me atm, what da hel do i have to achieve to have 1300hps on that rank  :P :)

Perhaps abjurer should faeri fog instead, knight tank and healself and then go to entrance, mount and wait there.

What's the problem with hp? Elf invoker got almost 1200.
And it seems that there is no need to fog heretic as he don't flee :)

2 ezus: nothing odd if someone trying to avoid pking with you. exped player and good pker, also clanned. You should realise that it is no fun to fight you for person who is just learning mud. I am not talking about that guy personally. Just in general.
Sure you can start this tales about honour of knights and rp. But i really doubt that rp reason is a primary reason why you WANT to kill people.
It is similar to car driving. Same rules for all. But there are good drivers and beginners on roads. And beginner wont even race with pro. They will just avoid and let pro pass by.
So, your question was 'why those lads play a game'? They play to learn in. Learn zones and equipment, get answers on many questions. Not to get killed buy papa ezus 10 times in a day just cos he play this game already # years and knows everything.
Experience comes from pk, that is true. And always with deaths. But this is pk experience. You should understand some people are new to game, they need to learn zones and stuff. And they avoid pk, simply not intrested in it for this time.
You kill people, it is your role. People who feel weaker then you, trying to avoid you. It is their role for now(even if it ooc). Just please, dont post this bullsh*t that shows you logging in and all newbies instantly running to guilds or leaving realms. What you expect, huge applauds?
Uh, oh, ah, bah, we see no logs. Why we still see no log Qhoren fighting Leilen, for example?
No offence in this post, and it is probably addressed not only to you.
But many people ask same stupid questions, even when they are able to answer them themselves.

Ehh.. I haven't goal to loot someone... just fighting. The way of quitting - not that one where you find some experience. Aye, retreat, prepare, fight. It's simple. Though another time, another players. Here is not much players around... so it's boring to 'explore' being a heretic.
About Lielen. She's roaming at middle ranks. So hard to fight vs. she... Before joining the camp i fought necro at middles, unsuccesful. Though mostly of equipment restricts. But... perhaps it's strange, but i tried to find him, not he. No matter of no saves at all.

p.s. solace is playerkilling mud, aren't?

Title: Re: Uh, oh... no logs... cause of...
Post by: xafelar on October 30, 2008, 03:11:13 pm
you wont understand it probably. but to prepare for fight you need to know HOW to prepare and WHERE to get preps. those things are simple for you, because you know alot. I am not saying that quiting is a way to play a game. Dieing is. But when you know simply nothing about mud it is hard to prepare yourself for a battle. Also mud is pretty eq based. So old players have an opportunity.
I'd recommend everyone to level up abjurers till astral and learn mud(cant belive I write this, a whole mud of abjurers *eww*). Not running and requesting every thing they see. Find potions, herbs, scrolls, wands. locate, find, ident them. Also learn areas. And as abj you wont really have troubles with heretics. My imho, it is best way to learn.

btw, i'm playing another mud (which is half rp too, but not enforced like in solace). I am pretty skilled pker there. And it is pretty boring for me to simply kill people, I always add rp in my fights. Make logs funny, filled with action and nice to read. Not just coming, silently attack my victim and kill it. You have a lot of power and knowlege to kill someone, why dont you make your kills more enjoyable? Even if you lose time or chance for fast kill it will make your pk more OC and satisfacting.
Unless you enjoy text version of Q3 ofcourse.
PS. there is much difference for newbie how he got killed  ;) people wont cry a lot about deaths if they see perfect rp. Pretty sad to get smashed by killing machine who was just passing by, and not intresting at all.
Not sure if that help, but worth trying  ::)

pss. yeah, solace is pk mud. and I never asked you to stop killing someone, right :)? Just answered your question why they run from you. Also if you concentrate on pking people who want to pk and leave newbs alone, it will help a whole mud. hehehe

Not good idea to learn mud as abjurer...
1) Abj can walk anywhere - playing other class you'll never walk there (probably).
2) Most of useful preparations can be obtained by any class.
3) Better play fighterlike class at start. The reason is - as abjurer you can fly somewhere - this relax. Try to walk by feet there.
4) Also for start - as for me - the best one is seasonal assassin. (because of: pretty easy to rank alone, to rank an abjurer you need a group, though you can rank on quests, also seasonals hard enough to kill)

Title: Re: Uh, oh... no logs... cause of...
Post by: arre on October 30, 2008, 04:01:27 pm
Its what newbies need most of all - is relax and explore world as easy as it is possible.
Except, almost any mob can be killed by abj solo.

If take fighter-like class, knight may be.
Can recite cheap identify, has cure and some protection.
Assassin is bad when dealing with mobs (any newbie char is half-naked, and assassins depend on eq much more then abjurers or knights).

you misunderstood... yes, anyone can walk somewhere by abjurer, but there is no guarantee that he will find the way again... but running by fighterlike you must prepare the way out. So learning faster.

Post by: arre on October 30, 2008, 04:28:53 pm
well if playing as abjurer, just do not need to know way back, and if take any another class - user will place efforts and spent time to find way to and out, its matter of time.

What the problem ?

Didnt get you.

It is a little drawback. Advantages are much more great.

I see... good luck then...
I mean - the harder way you learn - you learn faster.
Being a fighterlike, even killing tough mobs, you must learn the are, places where you can retreat, hide and so on. In case of abj... just dim door or astral. Floppy way for lazy persons. And i am pretty sure that newbie player can't rule the abjurer properly. I don't say about killing tough mobs...

I will say it again: the best class to start is cleric of Reorx, imho.
Enhanced damage, sanc+immune earth (dirt kick), gate, blade barrier, all cures and fat ass.

And assassin heretic isn't so scary  :) Just be sure to be speled up. There's only one thing to be afraid of - tiger claw. Me or ezus could post a log with our fight.
Invoker VS Assassin heretic. At start i just spam spells. Later i am dead as all spellups were gone and my throat was bleeding. I could flee but had a lot of fun instead. I doubt ezus would sacrifice your equipment if  you come and fight for fun. I would gladly die from con death to have funny fights but do not have much time.

Posts from xafelar are very wise. I agree with all his statements and I do not think it's so bad that people quit when they see ezus. They play their own game.

And ezus who knows a lot is tryting to find his own fun in game, I understand him as well.
But as a kind advice - get fun with those who as pro as you :)

Why is it important to have that log...
Sorry, but this sounds like 'oh it is hard to kill them in regular way, but i want some of them dead, so it would be nice if they kill each other'   ;D

by the way we're fighting each other time to time  ;) and bad bad ezus even owned my fighto once  >:( but for this terrible sin he was raided and even almost killed!  :D though pity I cant take his powers from inquisitor.. just I didnt log all the fights.. and i think he didnt too.

you're forgetting it was 2 vs 1... btw, how do you expect us to learn and be stronger opponents for both of you if you don't post here logs of the fights between you?  ;)

actually I'd not say there was 2vs1.. Saera ghm.. was just + aura in fact.
about logs.. dunno... we'll think about  ;) though i'm not sure it will help

Title: Re: Uh, oh... no logs... cause of...

well. somehow logs dont help much in this mud.
fist time you attack or get attacked you get a strange feeling that something is wrong and probably panic. way to win or survive is to get yourself under control, so you dont perform stupid things.

was fighting ezus and died ofcourse.(it was on seasonal assassin as he adviced, and this class is really nice for newbie cos of survival skills, thanks for advice man  ;)).
But I died because of... I simply forgot about vanish(i even got a binded button for vanish from first level) when he latched me, and I got not fortitude of spring on me. Hehe, newbie misstakes, but it is way to learn and doubt i will do those misstakes again. But honeslty, this short fight was some fun for me, even when I realised how stupid it is (fighting someone in top eq is always stupid).

about ezus vs unreal fight. No, doubt someone want you to _actually_die_. Why people like to watch box league or wrestling fight? Nice fights, pro fighters, breathtaking. Same is here. Much better then see a log when someone killing nekkid latched newbie who forgot to vanish haha.

p.s. newb question. btw anything but curse can stop from vanishing?

curse, !recall area, hold person... also hard hold by few persons.
some things more... use orbs (prot evil, sanctuary). It helps greatly.

gather money and use harden skin potions  ;) protection evil+harden+sanctuary=damnf*ckingreat reduce of damage!  8)

Also there is flask, (limited 2), great for phisical damage of assasins,
with 'wraithform', 50% reisist negative and godly 30% resist phisical   ??? ??? ;D !!!
where is it... well i cant say, because it took me lot of time and exploration to find it...and it keeps difference (read advantage)  between old and new players... ;D

You should gain hero+20 rank, master all your skills and then found a special manual. Then your bestie will be able to latch.
