If I have pure confidence I can kill person barbarian then why not make him a more powerful tool to use against you? If using the outer as a tool is wrong, then it should be set out as a rule to be followed by all, including even attacking during a reraid.

At least the first rule is being honest while commenting, if people start to look with someone's glasses to events then at the end everything get mixed and confused. I say nothing about attacking me while reraiding, everybody can do everthing if it is suitable to their RP. But casting sanctuary on barbarian is like protecting other clan guard. No rules were broken in this case.

As for rp... it perfectly suits member of takhisis rp. To support weaker of enemies, who fight each other, to finish together more powerful enemy.

Sanc to barbarian is right, no matter if there is a heretic or not.

Dude, I don't mix fantasy with real world... first of all, in the real world there is no materialization of good and evil, and honor is something that never truly existed. Damn... just think of the crusades as an example.

I think a Knight of Takhisis should have the conscience that he was made a Knight and that he has the duty to eliminate those who oppose the forces of Takhisis. He is not supposed to let someone else do his job for him.

I believe it is perfectly evil to slay both enemies, takhisiss are evil. And it is clever to use their rage against themselves, this one is cunning mage, who use his brains.

Only reason to avoid this action could be honour. But their honour is ... specific. Fits this case.

You don't get it. I am not discussing good or evil. Evil has nothing to do with sense of responsability and duty. Being a Knight of Takhisis means you have a duty, and you won't let others do it for you. That is the reason why not everyone is inducted. Or else anyone who wanted would just say "hey, I wanna be in your army", and Takhisis would go "Sure, I don't care, as long as you kill me some elves".

RP in this sense ir really poorly done, by everyone (including me), in my opinion...
Good implies in a bunch of things that I think most people don't even think of. And evil makes people assume they can just do a bunch of things that isn't necessarily true.
Good implies in: mercifulness, fear for those who are dear to you, respect for others, and of course, believing in the possibilty of everyone's redemption.
Evil does not imply in being cruel, or totally cold (emotionless), methodic... etc...

IMHO, when we think a character, we should first decide the subtleties of his personality, and then find which alignment better suits him. Problem is that alignment is made more important then anything else because of clan restrictions.

'Duty' - to slay enemies. Via most effective method, to prove Takhisis's domain in the world. Not to slay enemies themselves, any way is fine.

Yes, if you would think things in a deeper level. You could serve Takhisis with the uttmost devotion because when you were alone and helpless, a servant of hers took you in, and you saw it as her arm reaching over you and protecting you from harm. You may learn good intentions, but you think that the best way to make the world a "good" world is if it is ruled by Her and her servants.

That actually, is the classic portraid of many characters that serve the "bad" side, but aren't bad themselves.

In the log attempt to destroy lightwalker was almost successful, i hardly can see better tactics. It is equal to the rp of dark abjurer was successful, with little to no ways to improve it.

Besides all, the best argument lies that it is OOC and anti-RP to use this tactic, because it implies that you know barbarian cannot make choices. If it were a real situation, in which all three characters could think and take actions, I do not think barbarian would sit there fighting the other guy while a mage Knight of Takhisis just watched and buffed one of the sides. In a real situation also, it would be possible for each of you to fight the other two at the same time.

And it is those who keep on thinking that things are "simple" which makes the game more and more boring and poor in RP...

PS: One of the best RP I've ever seen was of a kender thief who mastered 5 spells and applied to Tower. He called himself "the Mighty Mage!!"

It was awesome... good times, even for a newbie.

whole solace mud world is  OOC and anti-RP, using these terms. Coz you can retreat from a monster and rest near. And a lot of things more are not real. These are abstractions, and we use them to play in the game. Cleric gains experience killing zombies, etc etc.

I welcome individual character roleplaying restrictions, or features. But dislike these restrictions being placed upon others, not self, without solid basis. And fail to find one in this log.

On another hand, you are right, saying that it all can be estimated, odds, chances to win, to play mud like a chess and to play it like a being hero of fantasy movie are two different games. You just have to live with people who play it differently, and avoid to judge them.

Ummm the saying "The enemy of my enemy is my friend." in rl you will use any means you have to accomplish a goal. It is takhisis' goal to enslave all she cannot bend to her will. She stole the earth away from all the other gods while they fought chaos. She is all about tatics. This was a good tactic IMO.

Another important point of all is that chess-like chars aren't newbie friendly. RP-like chars are.

It's very very possible for one person who doesn't seem overpowered to have gotten 1-5 items from Nether. If you haven't decided how, that doesn't mean it's impossible at all.


RP is very broad. If someone decides to choose a route that you don't agree with Agonar, it doesn't make it wrong. I view evil, the alignment, as utterly self serving. I think of what my character would do if it suited his purpose. Would he care for a tender babe alone in the woods and nurse it to health if there was some great benefit in store for him? Sure. Would he then drain the babe of all it's blood and use it in some bloody sacrifice to a dark god, sure. As long as it suited his purpose. He would lie, cheat, steal, and murder anyone who stands in his way. Anyway, that's how I see my evil characters.

Many of us "late night" players don't see rp cause what good does it do? Nothing gained from it. No imms on to see. Got like 5 roles on a toon, and use rp offen on it, but couldn't even get it inducted, why cause all prayers go unheeded. I enjoyed rp on my first knight Hansen. Love rp but had to rp alone.

No I hardly ever see any RP in this game...very very few people do it. I don't because has Hansen said it's completely useless and pointless...From a tactics point of view what the Mage did was spot on.. He used every advantage he could to win..kinda like 2 Heretics I know that seem to never attack 1v1 it's always 2v1 in their favor..so don't call BS on someone else using an advantage. 3rd from a Takhisis Clan POV I still think the mage did the right thing.. He wanted to kill the player and so he used what was around him to attempt it. Also going back to what Hansen said, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. And as far as people playing with OOC knowledge that would mean when you make a new character you can't go to Library and Wyrmling caves to get some started gear to help you rank..You sit in the Glade of Beginnings and rank there and only improve your character as you walk farther and farther out. Does anyone actually do this HELL NO! You make a new character you run and get some of the unlimited decent starter gear so you can rank, then go get other stuff you know is out there so you have gear.. Technically this is OOC knowledge and wrong according to your way of thinking Argonar, but everyone does it that I know. The mage in question was completely right in what he did..used what was around him to his advantage to win..can't blame him for being intelligent.

you don't rp to try and get noticed. i never get notice for rp. i know i'm not the best but i try. 95% of your chars won't get notices  by imms. the last one of my chars 2 get noticed was a bard back from chemosh was around..haha.and if you know imms aren't around when your on, you have to make 25min for when you know they are on, or when you know mortal leader will be on that was the even more than case back when alot more people played bc imms wouldn't induct anyone you had to wait for mortal leader which sometimes took even longer if you lived in the us and had to wait for russian time.

also it isn't bad rp 2 attack people while they are getting there powers back from another clan. it depends on your chars rp. i saw warlord getting powers back from  knights and i didn't attack. and i don't think he would hunt me down if i was getting powers back from tak, and i saw high chan. at heretics getting powers back and i didn't attack and he didn't attack me when i was getting mine back even through we ar mortal ememies. but that is our rp.can call me a bad rper but i never said i was good 8)

I have had quite a few of my toons noticed for rp. Either extra exp or a visit from reorx, and even a special title from one for my knight. But I was also able to pray and get noticed. I do wish it was more of a better thing. I like to see rp alliances made and those are used to scheme on another player to kill or steal from them.  I miss that... But why put all this effort into a toon that will never be noticed or remembered? Because it's a rule? Rules get bent and broken everyday.

Contrary. While you RP, you should follow your role, and if it is cruel or indiffirent, you have a choice: abandon it and help nubs, OR ignore nubs and follow your role. Chess-like pers help nubs with no drawback, they understand nubs are fresh meat, and nubs pose no treat for them.

To Dedraelos: It's not a matter of me agreeing with a character's personality/ virtues/ ethics... it's a matter of his role being convincing, in whatever manner he choses to RP it.
Example:
Today I saw a lightwalker laugh at me because I killed a citizen of Palanthas  slower then it would be expected. Lightwalkers wouldn't laugh at the death of any innocent Palanthas citizen's IMHO...

I'll give my advice on RP anytime I find it fit (even though I do not expect people will take it), as I will gladly accept any advice in RP too from anyone here.

People give advice in PK all the time, why not RP?  There is only one awnser to that, and it is because RP is underated by all of you. If you gave it enough importance, everyone would be discussiong roles, giving advice, pointing fingers, watching more carefully everyone's descriptions (and making better descriptions), and creating characters with richer personalities and qualities.

On a side note, today I killed a kender that had only two lines in his description, and they were very poorly written... Major point, I am rank 27...

For PK advices are: this, this and this would be better to do, you'd have more chances to win.
Argonar, your advices for RP sound similar: you'd do this, this and this. For what purpose? To satisfy whom? When I role-play smth it means I like it, me myself enjoy it. Sure, I have to play my character for others, and do it properly but I do not want to hear that my character should be more or less emotional or etc. When I said general rules this did not mean there are only a few of them.

If you want to RP, you do it. It has nothing in common with PK. You can be good in both RP and PK, or good in one of these options. No need for funeral mood.

However, it is worth to realize RP is different for everyone. Try to expand your private vision for somebody else - best way to meet no understanding.

Argonar it seems to me upon reading this whole thing that you feel everyone should play the game your way..So we should all run around and take advantage of newer players and be complete cocksuckers to everyone? Cause that's how you come off to me...like a kid with a magnifying glass and a ant hill...I don't really pay you all that much attention in game..Tahngarth doesn't really impress me, nor Sozin..they are more like leeches than anything else. My point aren't the imm's presence, Nierth. my point is that people only RP if there is someone to make them... now that there are few imms, it becomes clear that not even descriptions are being made.
