Small prehistory: Me (Jalyn in the log), almost naked thief, organized some kind of "the Day of Thievery in Palanthas" and managed to rob one very well dressed Cleric - actually i dont remember who it was, but be sure it was true Christmas tree. So i just got these shinies and was thinking what to do. One of them i presented to some Warder and then happened the next:

Why i posted it here right now? Just to let you recall all the reasons why you were waiting for reopening of beloved game. Do not ruin it and try to enjoy. It's only up to all of you would be around much fun or you'll die from the boredom - believe me, i know what i'm talking about.

I dont believe in punishing before'the crime, my old thief stole stuff he'didnt need all the time,  would sell trade etc, especially when feats used cost an insane amount of'money, should have waited for transfer before stripping

And PS: zondra, I really don't imagine unreal transfering anything. The Unseen would've waited for something that wouldn't ever have happened, IMHO.

Esp maces not alot of mace weilding nercos

From my point of view, that is not good practice ( started by Nierth imho) to take players in ROD and stripping their inventory. There is anti-storing system in game. You can't keep something powerful if you do not play. But if you play why somebody judge what things you should carry in inventory? What is it for? What is the purpose? To help to friends or to your own character?

And the last note about thieving which I connect with this described case. What is it for?

In all times people had many characters in game. One in clan, one for exploring, one for thieving... etc.  If I have very powerful enemy which I can't kill by present character, be sure, i'll make another special one to slay or to weak that one. That is the point of solace because there is no universal class in game. You can be GOD against somebody but nothing against others. That is the main point.  And if Unseen thinks, that being in one clan I can't touch by another character other clans, I disagree with it really.

I'm absolutely against item transferring. It should be punishable without doubts. But thieving, stripping, disarming, kill-full looting or just simple HATE  should not be prohibited independently of whom you have in what clan. That is the game. I want to have full assortment of classes to achieve somebodies pockets without requirement of destroying present character!

Everything this looks like someone personally protected by immortal. Its better to say whom we should not touch and everyone will be happy. :)

Please, Unseen, change your opinion and try to look on yourself from outside.

I remember my old ranger carried a piece of chromatic just to break up the set,should i have been stripped?

Nobody is being protected, but logging out and logging in as a different character rapidly to try and do something your other guy cannot, and then switching back again rapidly, is just crap.

I have no problem with leaving a 30 minute gap between logins of clanned & non-clanned for example. But log in, get ass kicked, run, drop link, relogin with thief, jack enemy, steal orbs, drop link, log back in with someone else, and so on and so on, no thanks.

AND- finally- Nobody (especially me) cares if you steal, disarm, loot, gang-bang, whatever, just don't item transfer from one gang to your other gang so blatantly :)

This is very complicated from a gameplay point of view and very very wrong from a RP and maybe even from multi-charring point of view, IMHO.
Anyway, it happens. Everyone knows it. I think I have a few logs even in which some people do it (log in and out, switching chars, or using only non-clanned char to fight the enemies of their clanned char for fear of fighting raided and losing their equip) without any fear of being caught... even transfer equip... but I don't point names anymore. I wont "whine" as I would've in the olden times for a place where everyone is fair one to another (and by being fair, I mean following rules of game, nothing else). I only do my part.

Look, there is another point which must be taken for consideration before implementing rules to protect Christmas trees. If you managed to gather all the best eq of the game and wear it on single character, if you managed to become unkillable deathmachine - you must prove it with every action, with every step in the game, you MUST be ready to guard this status from thousands of attempts to throw you down from the Olympus. And this is like it should be. There is no matter which characters are tyring to weak or kill you - if you managed to be deadly - prove it or be so kind and remove all the shinies and then you can stand at MS of Palanthas discussing about weather and flowers. And Imms should see the difference.

And logging in and out could be another side of the medal - Christmas trees are logging out very fast too if they feel ambush, believe me, i saw thousands examples of such behavior. So with your anger against so-called trash-characters we become only one difference - bright light of shining ass. Implement adrenaline affect to every char after logging at least instead of only clanned that are raided. Let it be not 24 gameticks but only 5 or 10 for example. But as for me - it would be crappy enforcement.

To be very very very RP person, you should have only one character in game. It's obvious. Like me now because lack of time. But its not funny enough. Try to think what logic people use when choose class for second character? Second character produces many many OOC and not RP things and it's normal.

The Imms protect who they want to. And punish who they want. The rules list should read differently. It should list all current rules and then at the bottom state : These rules apply only to people the Immortals wish it to apply to. Then there would be no confusion.

If Skaw died and changed characters and came back that's ok. He seems to be sucking Sirrions cock anyway. Friends will always get ahead and be left alone. If I told you how I really feel about whichever immortal seems to like f*cking with me. he might try to ban the top 1/3rd of SC again. Except that wasn't successful. Sirrion might not be the one that like messing with me. One Immortal seems to have some sense and understands its a game, and like to joke around.

You need more imms for coverage across time zones if nothing else. A lot of Bullsh*t goes on while no Immortals are online. Everyone know a rough estimate of when y'all are online. So people wait til y'all aren't on to do some of this stupid sh*t.

I agree with everything you say, unreal. I'm just not sure one thing has been taken into consideration, which is what I see happening now, and that I don't think you, as a deathmachine, ever did. Problem is that the present symbols of shining ass, the present "deathmachines" are the ones that log in with other chars, that use unclanned trash chars to weaken the potential foes of their true Christmas Trees... Now that is my question: If you managed to become a unkillable deathmachine with shining ass engraved with gold, why the hell are you using your assassin to kill the weaker enemies of your deathmachine?

Also, I am not asking for any new rules or adrenaline effects to be implemented. I don't think those would work, be effective or should at all be necessary. I'm just asking why people feel the need to do this kind of sh*t... I mean, really... are you guys incapable of having fun unless you have your GoS transfered from your old char to your new char?

I thought that my point was clear for the simple fact that I was never a Christmas tree with ass shining full of golden trinkets. My point of view is that of the underdog who gets pissed every time he gets a chance to do something and fails because some of the chrismas trees keep protecting themselves with multi-chars.

I won't use examples from now-a-days, but I suppose I can use examples from the past.

I remember this one time when Caleb had a clanned Guardian char: my brother attacked and fought one of his other characters and killed him inside the city. Right after that, Caleb logged off with that char and then logged on with his Guardian, flagged my brother's char, killed him and full-looted. So, not only did he multi-char, but he also intentionally broke the guardian laws, which state that Guardian can't flag someone if crime occured before he logged in... And me and my brother have always been worse players in PK and in finding equip then Caleb.

You are right, apart from the fact that I think assassin is not related to Takhis. Waho is doing dirty job here :) Maybe related to Skaw/Waks/Grimm/Shouzo or whatever, but I doubt now. And you are right, Takhisis are really opposite example of what unreal is talking about in his heroic preach :).

Maybe it's not a matter of privilege of other players, but just that you are downright disrespectful in many occasions... Everyone has the right to ask or demand respect... actually, respect should be shown and given without others asking...

And the old saying "Treat others like you would like to be treated" is meant even for (or especially for) when you were treated unfairly. On your part, you should keep the level of conversation, debate, discussion and respect as high as possible. I'm sure you can pass important messages... but the manner in which you speak them matters a great deal to the listener.

It frightens me to see that people still think like this. This is the 21st century, and the only kind of clash which is valid and worthy of note is a mental one, which is run by reason.
