Title: Flight-related artefacts Post by: Earwin on January 13, 2025, 09:34:35 pm I'm not sure I like the new fly spell restrictions, more likely not,
(I also don't know whether to categorize this into bugs or area defects or ideas) but on the assumption it's actually something good and here to stay: There's a whole host of flight-granting items that (I think) haven't been updated to new reality. First, potions/scrolls/whatnot: which either became completely useless whereas they contained flight only; or became actively harmful, when fly was one in a group of beneficial spells, e.g. fly+bless, fly+frenzy+giant strength potions. Next, we had at least two items granting perma-fly, and one item granting unlimited flight by invocation. All three were posed as kind of premium grade artefacts, lim 1, all that jazz. Now they are mino-crap as well. The first group begs to be reworked, the second group needs to be either switched to other beneficial affects, or improved to grant the old-style flight (making them premium+ as the result). Make it more expensive and make it fly.
Title: Re: Flight-related artefacts Post by: Earwin on January 15, 2025, 02:35:57 pm Not about fly per se, but overall movement changes related:
rot spell is now an absolute killer. It stops all kinds of regen, including move regen. Which wasn't a real problem when moving around was cheap. Now, even if you have friends who would hold the foaming-at-mouth cleric away from you, you're just plain unlikely to get to your healing sleep capsule. "The green moss is native to the province of Mithas. It is especially profilic around the area of Nethosak forests. Experienced look for it in the western parts of the forest. Brave adventurers gatherers used to explore ancient dark places simply must have one or two pieces. The green supstances in the moss are said to have the ability or removeing most of black magic maladictions." 8) |
