Title: Shield block and con loss Post by: arpade on October 09, 2025, 01:37:31 am From what i can gather off the help files, shield block scales off constitution, and it seems to be a big jump at the last point at 25.
And con is the stat we lose on deaths. I feel it is a bit unfair to shield based-fighters - especially dwarves (and other shield using classes for that matter, such as clerics), that their primary defense can potentially get worse as their char keeps fighting on on hero ranks. No other defenses have this quirk (a kender fighter using dodge, a minotaur with good parry, etc). I wanted to suggest basing it of Max con always, so that con death does not affect the defense itself, in particular to not penalize dwarf shield users because of the con loss mechanic. |
