Title: Porcupine stance potential bug
Post by: arpade on October 12, 2025, 01:35:26 pm
Im not 100% sure this is a bug:
The help for porcupine stance states shield block is improved and you can't dodge. This seems fine, i've never seen a dodge in porcupine.
But it does not mention feint or stand off, and i have never seen either of these defenses proc in porcupine. It might be the case to clarify this in the help file if this is not a bug.

Also, help states you counterattack "every time you shield block, parry or hand block", but rounds where you block/parry and do not counter are quite common:
You parry a dark dwarf champion's freezing bite. < no counter
You shield block a dark dwarf champion's freezing bite.  < no counter
You shield block a dark dwarf champion's freezing bite. < counter
Your counterattack devastates a dark dwarf champion.
This might not be a bug, maybe there is a check every time and those failed. But, sending it here just to make sure.

Last thing, it is not exactly a bug but for the "ultimate defensive stance", i find it really odd one can't rescue in porcupine stance. I would suggest that rescue be added to the short list of skills you can use in the stance (maybe bandage too?).

Cheers

Bandage I think 100 percent.  Rescue sure you run in front of *** and take the blows

- feinting means making a fake attack, incompatible with total defense;
- help stand off
- yep attempting to counterattack every time doesn't mean you succeed every time (there'd be too much spam in an already spammy skill if failures were verbose);
- no to rescue as it implies legwork (simulated for you as typework: stance def;resc friend;stance porc), will think about bandage.

Ahhhh I completely ignored the two hands requirement on stand off, my bad. Thanks Sirri.
