But I agree, Assassinate isn't right at all, same as cleave and PWK, instakills aren't cool.  Don't like it even when I'm on the winning end of them, just not fun or decent...

Good trained and equipped char has to hide from endless assassination attempts, not only from Griyam, but from almost naked (became trash) chars, and to lose con and clothes despite everything.
The same with cleave.
Is it fair?

Not fair at all.  Probably the most unbalanced, unfair aspect of the game, even.

Want to return some of the few things I got from Griyam who got from Critic, or most of them, or whatever, it's just not right to gain them in such a way.

ADDED: From what I hear, a bunch of those shinies (most? almost all?) vanished to the hands of the heretics the second time, whereas Griyam returned (or tried to return) what he got the second time 'round :-\

let me explain

there was 3 solamnia guarding power of Chaos, Tarius Lirion Asuimp

i was raided.

and what i supposed to do?

i Killed Tarius right while he was in group with Lirion, did not loot, got only gold.

Then Lirion tried to assassinate me 3 times.

Of course i can open a secret assassinate need good damage power. i was lucky to increase my damage power to 60+ - so assassinate start more effective.

so i found Asuimp and assassinated, got some things for my clan-brothers.

returned big part to him. all from my clan adviced: dont return anything before we can reraid, but i returned, so Asuimp start be dressed not bad.

second time, i strangled him near heretics, blocked with wall of ice, and with potion of sanc and haste it was death for Asuimp anyway... i start with assassinate then sanced and hasted beat a sh*t out of him, but was lucky with my greate damage power and assassinated again.

I myself took his things but heretcs took part of it, and i brought big part of Asuimp things to him...

Look, i am not Knight, and when Asuimp lashed me, he took 1-2 or 3 things. so if i got his shinies to my clanmates - what s wrong? i dont want endless life of solamnic with medallion, and obliterates in round from chromatic blade.

And finally - i dont assasinate people in trash dress. When i assassinated Amarand i was nt naked, i got damage stuff before and rise it to 40 and go to jaguar style so my damage power was VERY high to assassinate. - and Amarand was dead.

finally.

Assassinate is bad. it may be, but why i was an assassin of shadows for so many times and there was not so many powerseekers more??? near NOBODY play assassin shadow - wink Morly.

So with all changes shadow  - is very hard class to play, if it s so greate with assassinate - start one and try do something...

lucky bash, lucky pincer, lucky blindness - can you understand that there s no deaths WITHOUT UNLUCKNESS.

Oh Kamilla, well trained and equiped characters afraid assassinate - damn it. Munchkins who use help of hordes assistans get full set of powerseekers things and start unvincible. and why someone can harm them oh oh.

I am a damnation to dirty shiny-hunters, munchkins and powerseekers, and till i alive, noone mega-super-equiped (what a greatness, someone equiped well- i spit on such persons, it s nothing) so Kamilla when you tell me someone well trained - i laugh, i trained really well too, and? why should nt i take me souls with assassinate...

i think cleave can be cheaty, because fighters are very good damagers and defencers... and they can have cleave...

instant kills - is only things that can balance somehow current situation.

someone cald me trash char? i doubt. and when you tell about there are trash persons who run with assassinate and all afraid em... make such trash person and try stay alive.

so when Zerthan yells -assassinate pure luck - damn damn damn, ALL SKILLS IS PURE LUCK IN BATTLE, nobody and never being killed not because of unluck...

I dont think simple, normal person can gather quick things like that,
so if someone have horde of helpers to gather full stuff to be unbeatable,
and someone just play alone, without help - need balance it somehow.

It s very good roleplayed - ALL AND EVERYTIME CAN AFRAID ***ASSASSINS*** they can attack you silent while you sleep, while you in battle, and they QUICK AND INSTANT kill you.

If you afraid assassins - make an aliance, grow your own assassins-bodyguards, deal with it, but you just cry - assassinate is overpower.

one more time - try play assassin without cheating-stuff (season with medallion of mishakal - REAL OVERPOWER AND UNBALANCE - can fight with anyone and win, and can assassinate) better try evil assassin not in heretics - but nobody hurry to play such... if it s so powerfull... dont lie to me - we dont want power, i just heard people told me  -  chaos is nt clan for powerfull people, assassin - is nt class for power, but i still play, and find it funny.

So, that way to power (getting all possible shinies and became demi-god) is WRONG, and till i can breath in character, i will explain it to munchkins.

heh, dehuchka, did I say any word about loot? It's allright from your side, many other people can't get nice eq and that's why they don't like anyone like me and surely don't return anything in the case of LUCK (yeah, right word). So you are not as they are in my eyes and just relax. :)

as for weak assassins. What can mishacler d owith heretic? nothing. but 10 mishas will swing heretic in 10 rounds with no chances for him. MANY classes can't kill solo other classes. But only assassins have cheaty assassinate. Figthers and negros are strong themselves. And I will continue to say instants are cheat. Nevermind on eq, dr, etc... You have chance, not bad chance - it's enough. As for 'elkas' - gather band and kill'em all, it's more fairly than just luck on chance. At least opponent can gather the same band to protect. Well, maybe something will change.

dislike bands. i like "stenkas" war 5 on 5... but gather band to get ONE, bad advice.

Assasins are weak? But my last amarand couldn't do a sh*t to any assassin he met.
Had to run from assassins about 30 times and only slain 1-2 of them.

I don't know if assassinate depends on dr or whatever.

But there is clearly one assassin assassinating many people many times. You call that skilled player? I answer ya - no, he isn't for sure. I call it strange assassinate :)

Well, I didnt call exactly your char - trash char. But such char may be well trained too, time passed and he lost all his role, rp and became just a machine for luck hunting.

What about you personally - you have a good role, abit annoying sometimes though.

I thought this topic wasnt about you personally but about the skill assassinate, so your  behavior in this case (that you were raided and so on) doesnt change anything in the whole situation.

btw, I remeber how you're running for the 'shinies', now you're so innocent=)

Anyway, you're trying to explain why you're killing-killing-killing... You're great, my imho. But the theme is not about _why_, the topic is about  _it couldnt be that way_.

if we discuse instant kill skills - i think it s another big question. and discussion can be - is it right at all that some classes have instant kill skills.

that discussion can lead to reviewing all current balance.

AGREED GRIYAM.We had fougth with griyam many times and he hadnt killed me,before reopen the mud.Anyways assassins are weak toward of magic.It is the fact.Because i played an season assasin before time(Kundeci) and i know that an assassin what can do or what cannot do.There was displacement in that season(which skill was REAL BUG)it was saying that you aren't there,you aren't there......(grin)For example maybe you could make assassinate chance %1 for players.I will not say anything about cleave. :-X
