It seems an impossible thing, but perhaps it leads to a buried city, forgotten long ago after ages of decadence and ruin in the civilization. If it is, there is no telling what kind of city it could be and what you could find there. The door seems solid, and you might be able to open it ... perhaps. Back to the west, the black tunnel leads up somewhere to the main tunnel.
