Title: Solace Area Editor
Post by: Kiri-Jolith on January 02, 2008, 10:57:27 am
OK, I took the area editor, which I made about 7 years ago, and adapted it for Solace. Now we have a powerful editor, fully compatible with Solace. The editor supports almost all features, implemented in the MUD.

This program was designed for Solace Immortals. But I decided to remove some specific things from the editor and to make it available for public. For the next step I will create a small guide for Solace area building.

The program may contain BUGs. Thats because 7 years ago I didn't know how to write code. ::) If something bad happens, while you are playing with it, just let me know.

So quickly deleted your question, huh? ??? If you have an .are file, which can be loaded into Solace, then send it to me. I will convert it to .sae and send back to you.

Some tips:

1. When unsure, RIGHT CLICK while pointing on an item.
2. Each menu describes its hotkeys. Hotkeys of some popup menus will work only when you select an item.
3. Doubleclick to edit initial data, CTRL+E to edit stats.
4. Start creating an area with Area->Header menu, then Settings -> Correct Auto VNUM.
5. UP and DOWN room directions may seem to be strange at first try. But I think 2D representation is much better.
