Slow spell possible bug

Seems there's bug with slow spell:

You recite a sweet mystical verse.
The wolverine drops the wolverine claw.
The wolverine appears to be moving slower.

The wolverine is DEAD!!

You hear the wolverine's death cry.
The corpse of the wolverine is lying here.
The corpse of the wolverine holds:
(Humming) the wolverine claw <--- that's it

.. this object, the wolverine claw, is an exotic weapon,
and can be referred to as 'wolverine claw'.
It is of 12th level, weighs 20 pounds, and is worth 1 gold and 80 silver.
It hums faintly.
It deals 3d5 damage (averaging at 9).
Its attacks take the form of a claw.

Weapon has no dexterity requirements so why did it dropped claw?
