I think these should be made limited and duration halved. Or even removed from the game.
Free 25% damage reduction available almost to anyone is just too much.

Same goes to harden skin potions. And invoker haste potions.
Too easy to obtain, too impactful the buff they provide.

I think these should be made limited and duration halved. Or even removed from the game.
Free 25% damage reduction available almost to anyone is just too much.

Same goes to harden skin potions. And invoker haste potions.
Too easy to obtain, too impactful the buff they provide.

But then comes the Tower invoker with 50 spellpower, strips 50 points off your lightning resistance, and starts unloading Sheet Lightning, a spell with just a one-round lag, for unspeakable damage. In that moment, having Protection Good/Evil can turn that devastating blow into something survivable, possibly the only thing standing between you and eradication.

Before we start stripping preps from the game or making them limited, which is never a good option since it just lets the other side hoard them, we should be looking at the bigger picture and addressing the current game METAs.

I think that meta is slowly being addressed - you can spam shield bash in porc stance to that invoker. His spells will be often deflected and he would be able to cast them once per 2 rounds.
And that invoker would not have the protection effect either.

p.s. lower resistance spells should properly check saves

I agree with lower resistance spells; they all should check SVS.

Harden potions are expensive and only last 6 hours. I spend alot of time gathering gold to stock up 20 of these to go exploring etc. I think the time I put in justifies the reward
