Dwarves and mountain walking

I find it a bit odd that dwarves are as bad as anyone else walking through mountain terrain. Aren't they the race known for living in mountains?

I imagine that draconian bonuses to mountain movement are meant to represent their wings/limited flight but would'nt it make sense for dwarves to have a similar buff in that terrain due to their familiarity in navigating in such terrain?

They live *in*, as in inside, the mountains not *on* them. They aren't great climbers especially in all that heavy armor they love to wear.
