My latest clan applicant has waited like 3 weeks now for an immortal  Sad . . . perhaps applicant's could be sent a note or something when someone hasn't been able to meet them online. Or ask mortals of the clan to test the applicant your way or theirs and induct them or not while they are offline? While i was a knight of the rose I tested a few applicants for majere, but he inducted them while they were online. I assume that offline inductions are possible because you can uninduct offline people . . . Even a note to say sorry to many members in this clan at the moment or we do not think you are ready to join this clan etc would be awsome compared to 3 weeks of waiting!

Make sure your application is also addressed to "Immortal" for us to see it, not just name of clan Smiley

Hrothgar the male minotaur, Squire of the Lily

I think this guy was created 4-5 days ago and got inducted very fast, which is commendable... what about the rest of the applications?

I see three things that aid or hinder getting into a clan.

In no particular order:

RP: If you can RP it, they will come. This is key feature. Especially during interview, bring your A game RP. Also, having said that, don't drop RP after you get inducted.

Skill: If you can't manage to find the clan halls, don't expect to get inducted. This is the most relaxed rule as newbies can join clans. This is ok, getting into a clan is one of the best and only ways to find a good teacher in Solace.

Timing: Probably most critical. Especially for Americans. Realize that you work/live on opposite side of the globe than the majority of Solace and compensate for that.

Thus the end of Dedraelos' guide to getting clanned.

hum Hiddukel, I thought that immortals (or some immortals) can read any and every note. But if it is so, and you cannot read notes, will it be worthy to tell everyone to duplicate clan applications to immortals via in-game  means?

Umm i think it is in there somewhere, like help clan? Of course it helps if you don't spell immortal with 3 m's!

I can read all notes, but I have to do it in a not-so-direct way. It's easier for me if I have notes sent straight to Immortal.

Also, my guide for good chances of being inducted:-

1) Have a full and good description. A small/poor description will usually result not in even  being spoken too by Clan guards etc.

2) Use nice language, from rank 1 onwards! I can see all grouptells, tells, etc. I do not even mean great English, but nothing like "cool" "how many exp to rank" "pizdectoban" and so on. I usually make a note of that players name, for future induction purposes!

3) Reaction after PK! When a player is killed or kills, my attention is very close on this (most of the time). Angry reactions like "f*ck you" or Knights that gangbang another player, again I will usually make a note to myself with that persons name- for future induction chances.

4) Hmm, it gets harder. Make a note, a nice note, to that Clan. I will read each one. If they are crap, I will not usually even speak to that player, or maybe I will say "You need a better note". Why are you trying to join this Clan? What can you offer this Clan? Why should they choose you? And so on.

5) Do not think making a note means you can now stop RP! After reading these notes, I will usually watch that player for a day or two, and watch how they act. Someone mentioned Hrothgar- This player impressed me from creation, always in character, and was lucky with being online at the right time. I won't speak about his interview. So KEEP IN CHARACTER! Smiley

6) The interview- Everyone knows, I think, I am easily impressed with interviews. You can almost get 100% success if you just try to make some nice sounding story or tale for me. Just waiting for me to ask questions, or answering "Yes" "No" "I don't know" is one way for me to get bored very quickly. Also! Do not worry about getting a question wrong- I don't care if you don't know who is Vinas Solamnus, but impress me with your answer anyway!

"Do you know who is Vinas Solamnus?"

"I am sorry guardian, I do not know this man. However, my father once told me of a Knight named Sturm Brightblade, who inspired me to become a Knight myself blah blah blah"

Its so much more interesting than "I dunno" Smiley

7) Patience! I know sometimes its hard, but I am not on all the time and othertimes I am on I know I will be interrupted by evil bosses, so I don't begin interviews. Have patience, I will try my best!

8)For me, I know I should start to send notes back to ALL applicants, at least so you know they've been read- I apologise for this, thats my mistake. I will double my efforts to speak to more applicants, and appoint some mortal leaders.

9) Argh, sorry for long post Sad

Thanks for long post. It brings much more light to process of joining to a clan (for me at least). It is perhaps the best detailed description ever and with some less changes i think it should be put in official mud help on clans

offtopic what happened with feat for drinking potions in combat?

Why do i get a feeling that someone is willingly trying to keep certain clans empty? Is it so hard for imms so send a note to the applicant saying :Hey you, log on in 5 hours so we can roleplay? Of course, it means that the applicant should do the math a bit, but if he/she wants to get inducted some sacrifices should be made...

Because anybody who is impatient should not be clan member. Hurrying is receipe to make mistake. For example, I was lately so hurrying to defeat some necron that i forgot to rewield staff after using rainbow orb and that cost me of defeat. So, it is kind of test. Impatience or hurry - bad for pk, ie bad for clan.

Please, all people who have sent a note a long time ago and think they have been missed/ignored- Send the note again addressed to Hiddukel and Immortal please!

No one is tryingto keep any clan empty, quite the opposite actually. Although I will say, if one Clan suddenly gets two new members and no other clan gets one, the 3rd person trying to be inducted will find it a slow process because of trying to keep a balance of clanned members
