lets make thiefs and just show them how its hard to fight with them.

Emotions run high where thieves are concerned. Remove these abilities or making ability to steal objects less, will remove some element of risk from game, which I must disagree with.

there is the point:
Thief must feel this risk too when he decided to steal someone.
Now I dont know how to prevent stealing.

Desribe me how thief can flee from a fighter is he fails blackjack? or alteration? Just crush him down, plus blackjack gives 3 round lag (or soften,bull). Espesially from heretic one.
Mount a horse and thief cant hide jacking ya. Now short amount of people use mounts. Why?
With the new system of roll, middle character have 1300-1600 hps at hero rank, but backstab havent became stronger.
Steal steal, and what a fun. As for me I get fun from killing not from stealing.

bj - 2 rounds

crush+bj don't cumulate.

mount - thief use mount and jack you or jack your mount.

thief has harden sanc and displace - he can VERY EASY stay some rounds to flee.

There is no need to jack even, just type loot or type steal. The same result.

What for backstab? Thief steals all your inventory and flee.  Undecided

"Powerful" thieves use OOC, there is nothing can prevent them from writing one more book.
here you should have a mage, who is permanently mastering his spells to write them in your books... You are really Maniacus!!! Shocked Grin

I think we can leave thieves so as they are...
Anyway there is not so much players (like Maniacus) who has many OOC friends and can permanently have a thief with all spells and steal, steal, steal without any punishments... and if there will appear such person there will be a lot of angry victims who will happily slay the thief at all costs! And Thief will be lootet as well anyway...

 I'm agreed with Hiddy here, Solace's thiefs are best thiefs of the Muds!
It is like with necromancer.... Player is maniacusing, maniacusing.... doing mummy, dracoliches and becomes "overpower"
 Same thing and with Thief... Player is maniacusing, maniacusing.... asking OOC firend to master spells (or mastering himself), writting spells, memorizing them.... and becomes "overpower" 
Its solace, people! It allways was so in solace! The "strongest overpower" is  that one - who is playing permanently Grin - Maniacs !

He strives to be a safeguard against the torrent of darkness that washes down on the good people of this world.
On the side of his neck you can see an infinity strip that has been tattood on him, a sign of his constant vigil.

Meidot died 1 time, so you don't need to master spells "all" time. Elven mage can do it for hour, not so long, you can also write spells to yourself, spellbook is unlimited thing, hard to trace Smiley, i know, i did it myself.

Shappa was very organized thief like he said himself he spend more then half of life in memorizing spells - and he got REALLY TIRED of it.

so, i doubt we will see such overpowered thieves more in realms - it not bring fun to themselves really, power eat fun and time - that s a balancing rule.

so let s better weak heretics? they dont need to spend half of the time to get REAL POWER.
