You might find perhaps this was a trigger, not that it would make this right.

We currently have no mortal leadership cause Grissom died and Keeno (the only rose) hasnt been around for weeks, and i guess i have not been around enough to know whats going on.

If we assume Palanthas is where Urimarr and Erty fled to from the keep, making this an answer and definately not a 1st attack, thats what i would be assuming if it was not a trigger and they didnt expect to meet them there. Which is also assumed! Hrrmmmmm.

The Solamnic Knights have a strict rule: it is not allowed to attack in the cities, including the case when you chase the enemies who stroke first. Everything lawbreaking is forbidden, even if there are no guardians around to punish you.

In the time of my grandmastership every new squire was informed about this rule, but it seems that the one who inducted Barou and Solentra forgot to do so.

Poorly written triggers can't be an excuse if they make you to break your role and rules. You are not a quake bot, after all. Rule violation is not a heroism, but should lead to punishments and uninduction. Mind, you are Crown knights, the lowest position in Order, so you have to prove your loyalty and obedience (at least) to advance.

Solamnia is given pretty much of clan powers be able to fight honorably and to obey some simple rules. If one in Solamnia cannot control his bloodthirst, he chose the wrong cabal.

Disagree totaly. Solamnia fights for Heavenly Justice not for laws.

It is very easy to remember about honour and laws when it's convenient for you.

Solamnics are not Guardians. Period. They are allowed to attack in cities.


Or do you think that in Dragonlance series if Solamnic Knights saw a draconian, goblin or minotaur in Palanthas they would let him go? No, they'd try to arrest him, and if he would fight - they would kill him. Simple as that.


Returning to Solace it is questionable whether Solamnic Knight should attack first in the city unprovoked, probably not, since they are lawful, but if the violence is already started, undoubtedly he has such right.

Here, lets end this. Solamnics must be lawful. Therefor if you are a solamnic, you are lawful. As a lawful, it breaks rp completely to initiate fight in city. Solamnics fight for heavenly justice yes, but never ever have i known the to be allowed to fight in city. In all the times i've been a solamnic, i've always been told, from an rp stance, to flee outside of city, even if you overpower your opponent, so as to make sure no innocent citizens are harmed in the battle.

The question about solamnics attacking in the cities was considered long ago. I got direct instructions about it from Habbakuk, who is the immortal leader of Solamnia. Period.

I am not going to argue on other points,  I just say that the knightly behavior is not about slaying every evil person on sight.

Actually, Solamnic Knights are not supposed to attack in cities.

A lot of contradictions arise around.. hopefully a lot of things will settle down when we finish Rules.

Another can slay ALL evils without mercy, it's a RP too

Another can even slay every neutral and good who unites with evil or got help from him or helped him

But all of them must obey laws, one of them - do not attack in cities.  Grin

Knight of Solamnia should not initiate battle in city unprovoked - can't agree more - he is lawful after all.

Knight of Solamnia could pursue and attack enemy who's engaged in battle with him in the city, because it makes no sense at all that Heretic (Knight of Takhisis, anyone) can just make camp in protected town and feel himself invincible from Solamnia.
