A basalt hallway
  The hall is of dark stone, dimly lit and filled with the sweet scent
of myrrh. It does not gleam or shine, and it is filled with indomitable
dread. Blood stains the walls, and its rich, warm smell drifts thick and
heavy on the air. Screams of pain and torture can be heard echoing
somewhere, but where it is is indeterminate. The hallway ends abruptly
here.

[Exits: east]
A guard wearing no armor blocks the stairway up.

open up
You see no door up.

It looks like hes chased someone there. Or maybe he wandered, and isnt suppose to.
