Are not two-handed weapons at all. (I am not speaking here of pole weapons: staves, spears and polearms). Two-handed swords, axes and maces aren't useable.
There was a healthy system in DoE. That's what I suggest:
- add 'two-handed weapons' skill to every class that needs it (fighters, rangers, knights, outcasts)
- use it to improve damage dealt by blows (somewhat like 1.5x, discussable) when you hold a two-handed weapon with both hands (if a minotaur or draconian wears another weapon, shield or holds an item, this skill is not checked). (Perhaps a multiplier is needed for pole weapons too). In DoE there were no multipliers, but all two-handed weapons (including pole) were redesigned to have higher average, for example, Blashemy sword had 28 ave, Forever had 42. Here in Solace we can't do that because some races can dual wield two-handed weapons;
- use it to improve blocking (somewhat like "You keep someone at bay with your two-handed sword");
- there are not much of two-handed swords, few two-handed axes and only one decent two-handed mace (a huge column of enchanted blue ice) I know of. New items shall be needed;
- double the effect of Weapon Focus feat when you are holding your weapon with both hands;
- redesign old skills and add new to use with two-handed weapons. For example, cleave skill should work only with a two-handed sword or axe. 'Spin' skill from DoE was indeed very good too (not after it was tuned down harshly). For maces, we can imagine a stunning skill like this:
<prompt>
You smash someone wildly with your two-handed mace.
Your smashing *** DEVASTATES *** someone!
Someone is sent down by the force of the blow.
<prompt>
Your freezing bite *** DEMOLISHES *** someone!
Someone parries your freezing bite.
Your freezing bite *** DEMOLISHES *** someone!
You parry someone's claw.
You keep someone at bay with your two-handed mace.
