Half-elves and elves are quite weak (means they don't parry well enough). A staff is only thing that remains (you can't use spear effectively in a fight, since lunge is crap and jab is owned only by fighters).

Humans are good enough, but there is a small problem with age: when you finish readying your human knight to enter a cabal at 25th rank (means mastering etc.), he is 40 years old already (of total 80-90). (Half-elves and elves are 200-250 of 750+).

What about minotaurs and dwarves as knights?

Do I hear the yells: 'Overpower!', or it's just some buzzing in my ears?

But I don't remember a really powerful knight for ages and ages. Since 2000 or somewhat like that. Don't remember names, but some strong knights were there. Since then knights are silent.

A knightmare is going on: Vengeance and reflective scale hang on mob, and no one wishes them.

Achtung! Save knights from being added to the Red Book!

Orlein does not ring a bell for you? I think that was a powerful knight and knights did not change much since him...

Orlein? A powerful knight? Did he kill some decent enemy, or perhaps he managed to slay nearly a whole enemy clan, as Zerthan did? The only one his log I can remember is devoted to spamkilling of some newbie heretic.

Any other examples of powerful knights?

Actually there was a log of his duel with Uonfer, tower necromancer, which he won easily or at least not with much trouble.
If you want to take others as examples, i would like to hear great outcasts, except Zerthan. And i do not mean strong, but outstanding, for you obviously seek outstanding knights.
For that matter, i do not remember outstanding characters of many classes. For example invokers. Last i remember was Farion i think, who needed usually three rounds of his fire chain to slay any.
As someone here already said the balance swings back and forth. Now there are lots of evils and Takhisis is full, whereas Solamnia almost not seen. Soon Solamnia will rise perhaps and there will be knights doing just fine in there i am sure.

As for outcast knights, you should remember Noh and Alezath. Unclanned, they performed devastating raids on Solamnia and slew numerous lightwalkers. Their logs were all but bloody messes.

As for Orlein - perhaps he could withstand a Tower necromancer or someone else, but I really can't recall any of his decent KILL.

And, by the way, since those times knights lost staves skill (= no easy sanctuary), and solamnic plate was lowered.

Actually, I am not trying to say here that knights are underpowered. Adding minotaurs and dwarves would just spice them up, breath a new life into them. In my humble opinion.

We'll think about dwarves (minotaurs would have free immunity to physical).

Not 'free' immunity to physical, but immunity to physical only if you are leader of Solamnia and wearing nearly all the existing stuff with physical resistance (resulting in a lack of saves), and holding Entropy's power. Draconian necromancer, leader of Takhisis clan, would have the same 'free' immunity to physical.

knights are nt supposed to be KILLERS... they have nt holds except bash and instakills - so they can resist many and be dangerous for many... but not surpeme killers if stay in RP...

preparing for lich beating? physical resists can be very helpfull here...

Let's return to our muttons:
I want to complain here about evil races *wink* dwarf is rather same to draconian, but there has problem with age... so if you want an agy, not weak and not dumb priest you have no such, but dwarf are such one. *shrug* I wrote that because dwarfs as knights i Think it is too much *smile*

I think both outcasts and knights had their 'stars', which means they are ok. Why less people plays knights now, it is because prolly some players got saturated with them and after some time knights will be popular again. It seems to me the only ok choice for knight is human race. Dwarves and minotaurs would make them more strong and knights can be strong nowadays already. Anyway, who want to play knight with dwarf or mino , he can make fighter and apply for solamnia Smiley

You forgot the fact that draconians are large (which affects many skills), and can wield two-handed weapons with a single hand.

I can suggest a new race =)
Description:
Not far ago experiments of the Tower of High Sorcery have damaged the very
important essence of space, and strange things have started to happen. One of the aftermath appeared that protective spells of dungeons of one old Tower of High Sorcery become weaker . People began to notice huge strange essences similar to earth elementals. It was magically created assistants to the magicians, appeared quite reasonable and that is surprisingly perfect good-natured essences.
New race appeared on Krynn, call themself as Dawohs.

Int:16
Wis:16
Dex:18
Con:25
Always good and lawfull.
Have masterd Bash, Enchanced damage(if have those skills)
Can be Knight, Fighter, Ranger or Cleric.
Due they elemental origin dawohs have an excellent resistance but can not sleep and
drink at all(cant quaff potions, can rest only, sleep command disable(except magical
cases - sleep, healing sleep or strangle and blackjack). Nevertheless they have to eat.
Dawoh race resistance:

During those time solamnia was almast uneffect to physical and negative. It was impossible to hit even dwarf cleric leader of Solamnia for necromnacer. I was runing from all rangers with saves. Mino+bison+bark gave 75% resists to physical. Ranger in solamnia was 100% resisted against physical blows. So nothing strange here. If you can't even scratch your enemy - what will be a result?

p.s. Unreal do you have a log, where khird killed me? Post please, because i do not remember that moment.

Just checked. Last logs from Khird are when you was in Tower, no fights with lich were logged.  Undecided
