A bend in the trail
  You are at another bend in the trail. The trail continues south
and west, but to the north is a small log cabin. It looks deserted,
though, except for a bright yellow bird that swoops in under the
roof to his nest. The door to the cabin is closed.

The description explicitly states the door is closed, regardless of whether it is or not.  At first I thought I was translucent when I walked through it!
