It's a long log, but makes interesting points. If you've ever been killed by Lyeine and wondered why, you just might want to read Smiley

No problem. Glad someone reads these chat-only logs (this is really one of the better conversations I've had in the realms)

Thanks for fixing biglog. Seems to still have formatting problems though... *shrugs*

A lot of empty meaningless chit-chat. Unnecessary and pointless. The role of Lyeine is clear : necromancer, which means working alone and antisocial person. The others who play friendly necromancers are slightly moving from necro true role, but it is ok. And please dont think that Lyeine is really powerful. You dont have to be very smart to see what is the best class for mud with 7 average players online.
Clearly, necron, because with his mummies its clean overpower. It would be another situation if there were lets say 30 players online, among them 20 good... Lyeine would be smashed or would leaving realms all the time. So stop respect her as a some killing machine, becauseLyeine is not phenomenon or some mysterious good playing skill... it is only good estimation of which class will benefit the most in rare populated mud... thats all. You give too much attention to it.

*smirks* one more..
The only one answer on these "arguments" was always - try to repeat all what I do.. or even 50% of it.
You'll be good.
And your words are really empty.. without any sense except hidden insults.. *shrugs*
If you're better - show it  Wink

I forgot to say 'with all my respect to Unreal'
Nobody is questioning playing skills. I could say too... try to repeat what I do... but it cant be done, everybody is unique and that way is the best way...
But that was not my point... the point is : playing such role would be much much harder if there are 30+ players.
I am sorry if it looks as insult. It is usually easy to insult persons with a bit larger  ego.  Wink

Hell, no! I wont try playing necron for some time... It is not interesting to kill mobs so easy. I am afraiding that playing  may become too easy and boring Smiley

Nobody is unique as you said.. nobody.
We all play the same MUD, we all are using the same abilities, preparations.. clothes are too possible-to-get for everyone.
The difference is in the skill.. and the skill is what I'm talking about.
You said "try to repeat what I do" - easy, and even much more because of experience and skill. Code of Solace is the same for you as for me. *shrugs*

I kinda agree with Inkognito, a necromancers life during such times seems far easier, though I also do not believe Lyeine would be successful against Minkren or Grimm now days.

But i do think some things Inkognito said are totally lame and uncalled for.

PS. Just some input for you guys and other who like to play necro's, the black robe mages powers are granted by Nuitari not Chemosh. Nuitari does not say, go forth and slaughter every innocent you can possibly find. He says gather power for the black robes. These 'friendly' necro's your talking about are closer to the real thing than any Lyeine or Narin. It always bothered me that necro's were suppose to become lich's by the blessing of Chemosh. Show me a dragonlance book where Dalamar or Raistlin or any other black robe runs around alone slaughtering as many people as possible and turning them into mummy's. . .

Hmmm... seems you missed the point Inkognito. The chat wasn't at all about anyone's power, though I do respect Lyeine's skills. There was a huge fuss about necros before, and lyeine was a large part of it I think, so I alluded to that jokingly.

The last thing I wanted was for this to become a flame thread. I was hoping people would focus more on the reasoning and roleplay, as well as the analogies used here. A lot more intelligent and meaningful than most banter in the realms (especially among enemies) doncha think?

grats to matthew for trying to provide relevant discussion. unfortuntely i'm way too tired to contribute now

Hmm, we are not talking about same thing then... You want me to try playing necromancer? Well, no, i dont know playing necromancer good (not even average).
And i would need some time to learn it... at least two hero necrons to learn some things about necrons.
What i meant is, try to play druid and lets see who is better as druid, for example.
The skill is your knowing to use your class to its full potentials
... and the experience is ability to find fine armor, potions, and generally knowing of mud which will make you win in  battle.
Indeed there is difference in skill and experience... but also there is difference in
1) armor
2) class
where both depends of experience.
I didnt learn anything new from discussion between Lyeine and Windel presented in this log.
Anyway, i give up from everything i have said in posts on this topic. Who understand he understand. No need to spend my keyboard and finger further.

Aye.. discussion about nothing and I'm glad that was not me who started it.
And many people asked me why I dont post logs here *smirks*  Grin
Here is the answer.. there are not so much of people who can really read log and enjoi it.. much more such as this man.. inkognito?
If you'll understand me.. - nobody needs your estimations, really.. as Prophalictic said before - this log is not about respect/unrespect of Lyeine or me or anyone else.. just small conversation (proph I was drunk like a hell  Grin ).
And such posts without any relation with log.. pff.. thats why I never post here any logs and I wont.
(and I have a LOT of them *smiles* )

P.S.: I really sorry that I answered your posts.. dunno why I did it.

I am glad that you are not moderator of this forum. All those posts with content that differs from your opinion would be definitelly shot, killed, crucified and remains of it would be burned with dragonfires. Smiley My posts in this topic were without flaming, bitching and cursing. In a very polite way i used my right of forum member to make statements which represent my attitude on this topic. If you cant see it like that and if you see it as a personal offend, it is your problem. I dont write here because i feel that 'somebody needs my estimation' nor i will in future. Believe me, it is much easier not to write anything than to write opinion about something. I could simply keep my opinion for myself and ignore this log (will prolly do it in future).
Again, this small conversation is not interesting and it is not holding anything valuable. In fact, from someone who speaks english naturally, i expect more artistic expressions (comparations, style tools, etc).
PS In Tibet, some monks have 20 tigers living among then without any danger. They are all tamed. (As answer to example with wolf)

I enjoyed the log, thanks Smiley

Always sad that I never battled Lyeine with Isinda (though I think I would die).

Its hard to rock with necros, so hard. I've tried it before, and failed too many times on the path.

Wow... what's your first language Inkog? I must admit it's strange having my english insulted by someone who is apparently foreign. You have to keep in mind here that I know a lot of people in the realms don't speak perfect english. When I try to use embellished speech (or even olde english) they often don't understand me, so I try to speak in simpler terms.

"as answer to example with wolf".... that's not an end-all be-all response to the question. Of course animals can be domesticated. I don't think anyone was even debating that. You should pay attention to the part of my log where I said that even dogs are wild and often dangerous until tamed. Sometimes creatures are taken from the wild when they are wounded or endangered and released back into it by humans. This doesn't always mean that they die a horrible death because they've been coddled to much. They adapt to their changing environment and their instincts take over. They can live peacefully with the human after some time, but they can also take on their natural role when the environment supports it. So humans nature can be changed, and animals can go from wild to domesticated or vice versa.

Hello
I am new to this Forum and new to Solace, but I find Lyeine's play quite exquisite and have learned to fear her whenever she is on.  I find as a ranger it has been good time to practice for my creep skill whenever she is around.  I really like this post, I think it is a great example of good roleplay.  I would love to find out what is in that wagon she carries around, I guess I can try to find that out next time she is on. As an example of winning style of writing take a look on this. I dont know who played  Vanes, but if he wrote a book i would gladly buy it, for example. When i read something good like this, i feel like i own him a favor because he made me able to read and enjoy in my reading.

Vanes tells you, 'One final question...?'
Vanes tells you, 'I saw rivers of blood flowing from you...Huge amounts of death...but you still lived...Are nature's children all so tough?-wince-.'
Vanes tells you, 'Perhaps...Though I felt like drop of rain, trying to wash away a mountain.'
Vanes tells you, 'I see I must tread softly now...Until such time i may offer you a greater challenge...If Lord Chemosh desires it!'
Vanes tells you, 'What is this life, if not a deep journey...Mine towards the Abyss, yours towards the circle of life...Not for us two, to sit and look at our gold forever, and die covered in dust.'
Vanes tells you, 'Such a death will not be remembered, I wager...'
Vanes tells you, 'No sorrow! I will still seek your death in time to come...And no better way to live, than to set against the greatest of
enemies...Salute to you, and I wait our next dance of death.'

No need to comment, you can see it by yourself how good it is.
This is like one great piece of poetry, real chef d'ouvre.
My answers were omitted because it simply isnt  important.
