 towns and cities. One night on such a trip the couple was attacked. His father was killed and his mother left for dead. A cleric of Paladine found this woma
n and healed her. 8 months later a half-elf was born. the mother died during the birth and he was taken to Palanthas. A noble knight and his family took in t
he child. they taught him many things to include the Code and Measure and named him Hansen. He has since then watched the ones that took him in and even thei
r children die in lifes circle. He has sworn his Life not only to Paladine but to the Knights, their code and Measure, and the Honor of his adopted family.

The funny bit is, i knew he was a newbie. I expected him not to have the guts to attack me and so i would obtain wraith essence! It was worth a shot i say!

If you have trouble keeping track of blessings you should make some system to substitute the message you get when they wear off and remind you of the alias. Like this: (If you're using JMC)

#substitute {The silver aura around your body fades.} {*** [6] PROTECTORATE OFF}

'6' being my alias for protectorate (I used 1-9 for blessings, with a second "row" of 11-99 if I have more than that, and 0 for heals). So I'll know immediately which blessing wore off and what key to type. You should make some default format for such messages from MUD. All my warnings for buffs wearing out followed the format above.
