Umm, I'm just impressed with enhanced fireball's damage (even after lower resist), I thought I was pretty safe with resist/sanc/protect evil.

Small question, it's alright for lawful characters to counterattack if the guildhall is attacked, right? I always did that but noticed that this time cityguards treated me as criminal after I gated back to Palanthas.

If you had all the shinies you used to have, the odds would be more even. Last night Snork had to recall too for the first time... Still, it's 2:1 for him. Question for imms: why lower resists don't check saves and every spell an abjurer has does so, even the freaking slow?!?!?

Soften is easily placed. And lower lags you for two rounds. Plus an invoker has to use all sorts of preps to be protected, and an abjurer has everything.

Rialon is right soften does not check saves.

Vs. my alter Irnver used to do mangles-demolishes against sanc+harden+protection+saves (big devastate if saves fail). It was on forms zero resists, without lower resistance. Thats crazy, IMHO. But I guess, he had to sacrifice all his HP and saves for that.

Soften never checks saves on mobs and is relatively easy placed in PK
Slow does not check saves either but only when slowing down hasted person (both mobs and PK)

And efb damage is ok, just Irvner made it bigger with eq and such

Not true. Slow checks saves otherwise it wouldn't fail 10 times in a row when trying to slow Irnver. Soften can also fail. To Unreal: you say that spellturning is cheating but giving takhisis mages spell similar to spellturning is not cheating?!? How predictable.
 And by the way, you efbs miss not due to spellturning but to displacement. Keep trying! If you want Snorks gears, you will just have to wait for him to die from age death, unless i start cheating. Roll Eyes

You make out like this is a bad thing, when it is a good thing. Invoker is not penalized here. Invoker can have super damage AND be protected very easily. Having to pop a red dragon orb and make yourself a couple of haste potions is NOT a problem. Invoker is a character that can have it all and rule anyone. But the same goes for Snorkae in a way, he can find scrolls to read and wands etc do heaps of damage.

And the thing about what i propose for invokers would probably get me permabanned from solace... Well, who gives a f**k?

I propose that spellturned/spellbaned/countered lower resists should also lower an invoker's 100% resistance from a certain damtype. I.E. reflected lower resist fire should lower an invokers's fire resist from 100% by 40 percent like it does for everyone else... Why? Reason is simple: when i cast soften and it gets reflected my harden drops off, same goes with slow and the rest of the spells. Why shouldn't invokers feel some of their firepower upon their own efb spamming hides? Let them feel the thrill of constant recasting certain spells... It's lots of fun, honestly! Tongue

There are also Gniblin, Mya, Shatienne etc... They all wield the same powers. It's the use of the powers which makes the difference between them...

I can definitely say this with authority Smiley

PS. On a side note, invokers are probably the most boring clanned member I've ever played. My reasoning for this is, even with self spells, protection from good/evil, harden, sanc, stoneskin, plus a few more preps, it's extremely difficult for an invoker to raid. Maybe if I could start slaying people and taking autoheals it would be different, but I can't think of any other class that has such a difficult time with inners.
