When your fire goes out, so too shall mine...

« on: October 28, 2005, 08:19:10 pm »

Not sure if this is bug due to new changes, but ever since, i keep getting color put on at completely random times. It comes on all by itself, at no particular time, and i can't seem to single out anything that sets it off. No its not anything i'm typing cause it happens in the middle of battle sometimes when i'm just waiting for whatever to die. If its not bug, mabey its my mud client, but because of the timeing, i thought i'd post to find out.

Ok, it comes on everytime I improve a skill or spell. Is that a bug with code or with my char? because i have no triggers set for it to do that, and it never happened before the changes...*grumble*

Ok, near as I can tell. I notice that when i put color mode on, when i improve with some skill or spell, the text that tells me this is green. Well, when i have color mode off, that isn't supposed to happen. But, i have color mode turned off, then i improve with something, and all of my text is green. Not just the stuff that says i got better, but everything that comes after it too, and it just doesn't want to seem to go away. It goes back to normal every so often, sometimes if i toggle color command, but then always goes back. It doesn't happen with color mode on though. Wierd stuff. I'll clarify if this is still confusing.

Ok, simple problem. At random times of playing solace, all the text goes green. All of it. I don't type anything to make this happen. And i can't type anything to make it go away, it just comes and goes as it pleases, and this never happened until the changes took effect.

A similar, or perhaps the same problem, takes place sometimes.  Depending on the colour of a message recieved (eg. tell -> green, say -> yellow, etc (depending on client settings)), it seems as if it misses the ending command.  By that, I mean the colour continues overlapping past the say, such as

There is a tub here.

Archimedes says 'Eureka!'

You follow Archimedes out of the tub.
...

And this only stops when you recieve another message in a different colour, like a tell if it's in Say-yellow.  Hope that explanation makes sense.

Exactly. Except in my case, I don't even have color mode on to begin with. So it shouldn't be appearing.
