What about any service of identify?

In fact its simple kind of magic... More simpy than remove curse, cure critical, restoration.
But all this spell are possible buy on recall.
Whats wrong with identify? Lets make price 50 gold for ident and ok?

Lore "surely" help... Making 10 attempts and summ some repeated affects...
No race restrict by lore.....
Lore its a story about item. Its first thing in story - "its item can use only <>....."

Or lets add wands and staves with identify. Why scrolls able?

Some really nice things can be used:
1. "great action" - score; wear; score!
2.  make mage for identify and use it
3. get item - find anyone in realm with identify and talk with him about weather

Who know else? I want to know more!

I don't recall reading in the books Caramon coming to Raistlin asking : "Hey man, how many saves on this piece, or how much fire resistance etc..." I say remove identify altogether!

I really do not see what is big fuss about this?!

How different is this from making a magi, traveling around world, indenting stuff, making your own indent db and then when you switch to a new char that doesn't have indent, using knowledge from that indent db you made earlier?

yeah - quest item, can be bought for QP - complete some quests (learn some world) - buy watching eye.
good for newbies.
nothing for experienced - who have DB. friends. memory.

If for instance when something was identified by spell, it stayed identified as in old d&d games etc. There might be some kind of player 'market' for such 'services', good RP for hiddukel, shinare worshipers to charge money for such a service. Gold can be good for something else and we might see some kind of economy arise..
