When I started playing, I remember assassins were accepted, but it was well-known that no assassin in Solamnia could make it past Knight of the Crown. It was in help file, even, I think. I liked that idea. If you want an assassin in Solamnia, sure thing, if you prove yourself worthy, you can make it, bearly. But your ways will never let you be amongst the highest scales of honor and knighthood.
