I knew I would lose this battle. Did not expect mummies will die so fast.

Went to heretic camp to see if arin was around, hit spiked trap. We chased each other along east road a bit. I didn't start logging till after the fact, so sorry I missed some.

sorry, fixed tags

Raising the best undead I can find, trying to play necro as well as I know how. Barely reached hero rank. Found some books but not all.

If anyone has tips or criticism I'm all ears.

Oh and for the record, I only asked Quuq to attack so I could run away and go help my wife (no intention of fighting 2v1). Arin was nice enough to let me quit on her own though.

Kind of bummed out that mummies did almost nothing and seem to have so little HP considering I used what is historically the strongest corpse. As you can see in the log they were all full HP when I began the fight.

I am used to think when people say they lose battle it means they died. When you retreat it doesnt mean you lose battle because you can still return to finish. For this situation maybe it is better to say lose duel or retreat from battle.

I think of the phrase "You may have won the battle, but you haven't won the war". I lost this battle, but the war will continue.

Yep, I've worked my ass off on this necro and pretty much disappointed so far. Can't really see making another one.

Spellban works only on direct spells, not area. But cutthroats get evasion, so there is a chance he can avoid area damage.

If anyone has tips or criticism I'm all ears.

You fought Arin's fight. On her territory, by her rules.
And that's changes everything.

Take fight to the forest where thief can not hide.
Also. Heretics never can:  pass door, fly, breath under water. And this takes us to many places where you can "lock" thief. Thief that can not move - dead thief.

Arin chose place where it is possible to hide and retreat-knife you. If you chose your place.

1. With hard-walking ground - without fly they loose  moves.
2. With locked rooms to summon in
3. With underwater rooms to summon in. Not sure that you can summon something there, but try
etc. Lock enemy in place where you can go in and out. let him fight your mummies. And then you can just shadowfire.

Necros (if not draconian) is the only mage class without a fly spell. Check it.

How's mummy outcome against enemies that don't dodge as well.

High-dextrous thief shouldn't be a reference for mummy striking, I suppose. They are supposed to dodge a lot.
But how do mummies do against a human fighter, for example?
