Without light, there is no beauty, only suffering.

I'm having a blast exploring the map and discovering where different items come from.

This is in part only possible because there is less competition when compared to years ago for limited items, so i can actually find them in the wild and learn where they come from.

As I am a optimist I am assuming Solace will bounce back and gradually gain more players. And I pity future players that lose this chance at exploring the world and really learning where each artifact comes from once solace is full of players again.

My idea may be controversial and potentially very difficult to implement, but in case it is possible i wanted to suggest some kind of "shadow item" mechanic to show where limited items com from after they are taken. As a way to democratize information to newbies, if they explore they will know where things come from, even if they are taken.

Say you look at some mob which already had his awesome sword taken, it might show:
MasterBlasterUltimate is using:
<wielded>           (Glowing) (Humming) Blade Of awesomeness (shadow)

The idea is to show the item, but make it clear it is not really there (here i expressed that with the (shadow) tag, maybe a (memory), or (lost) would be better). So a player looking may learn where the blade of awesomeness comes from, even if it is taken.
