Some ways to obtain 'artifact find'

Couple of ideas:
- Buy with smuggler coins. Some significant amount of AF(+15-20?) for 100-200 ticks. An item that will crumble or a potion
- Buy with abyss currency
- a manual of luck

Would nice if it was a buff that cannot be dispelled, so everyone can benefit from it without sacrificing gear slots.

- Surges

From another MUD:

Surges are regularly scheduled mud-wide events based on the server time.
They are evenly spaced 40 hours apart to allow our players in all time zones to
have a good chance of being able to catch at least one surge during the week.

During a surge, mortals gain experience and skill proficiency improvements at twice their normal rate.
They are also more likely to find additional gold from slaying creatures (mobs).  Dying to a mob will
incur no experience loss during a surge.  Lastly, no con loss in PK during surges.
