Oh oh oh. I am just SO excited. Tickled pink even. Happy as a pig in mud!

We have quails, tiny little quails, and now, they have bred and we have so far - 3 babies. Oh I am so excited!! Mumma quail is still sitting on like, another 20 eggs!! She laid 25 eggs first time around, but something or other spooked her off the nest, and they didn't hatch. But this time, she is sitting tight for the long haul.

Oh, what on earth will I do with ALL these little babies?  I hate selling things. lol guess I will just have to try otherwise, I will end up with more birds than I can shake a fist at. lol

Now, if you look very carefully to the right of the picture, just beneath the branch, you will see the mother. And in the sunlight, are her babies. Well, 3 or 4 of them anyway. Cheesy

They are only few hours old at time of the picture, and still very wobbly on their little legs. I am as clucky as a brooding old hen. Cheesy

oh Jemma they're lovely! And just the right size!

Maybe you can ship one over to me, if I post my address?

You could . . . I don't know . . . eat them. Stuffed quail, maybe a nice rosemary sauce . . . sounds like a plan. Plump them up good, i say. -Bjo

*growls and Hiddy* you and that snake of yours!! Hey, that's an idea. Next time you go out drinking, and walk home, take your snake with you. I'd certainly give you a WIDE berth if I saw it. *shudders*

BJO!! Last time I group with you!! lol To stuff them, all you would need for babies would be 1 crumb of bread, very little else. To stuff parents, maybe a teaspoon of crumbs. They are small quails. BUT EAT THEM?? YOU and HIDDY better not get together!! You're both ... dangerous .. to my birds!!

*fluffs her feathers out and gathers her little brood together under her wings*

Actually Hiddukel Yesterday, they reminded me of you - like a drunken man crossing the road. Cheesy They would stumbe, fall over unto their backs Cheesy they looked SO cute!
