New Forum Topic: Clans...

Hey, I was wondering what are peeps opinions on starting a Topic in these forum for soley people to advertise there own clan. I don't mean, the Solamnics, Neraka knights, and Conclave, but clans that organized simply through roleplaying in the mud. I mean clans for people who have a specific interest in things and would love to unite, but don't want to join a clan such the Army of Heretics and having to dedicate their lives with defending their clan center and reraiding.

Example: Basicly you leave a topic in the clan section of your clan, advertising it.

Desciption inside post:

Requirements: Must be evil, and only the minotaur race is allowed.

Headquarters: Nethosak dark temple (Or whatever)

How to join: Please leave a post in this topic with your stats and class (or contact me sometime in the game)

What we will do: Team rank, Pking, stampede over obsticles (or so on)

Meetings: This can be a date when the clan will unite to meet on a specific idea....

Then you can leave a short story or description on the clan or how it was formed. If people like the idea they'll join...




Basicly its for players who have always wished to be in a player based clan, like a brotherhood, but  not dedicated to a god or Warlord to order them about. Please leave your oppinions on the such...

I'm definitely here!

Silvanost was started to address the tons of unclanned elves, really. And also, there was a niche there, as the Silvanesti are technically in exile and don't have a city.

Karaliel is the Speaker right now, but she's gaining in years, so we'll see....rumor has it she has a sister. 

Itoroth is still High Guard, and Cael is no longer that active, but I'm trying to think of ways to get elves who ARE clanned involved without necessarily giving them titles. A sort of "oath of allegiance," since Silvanost is at peace with the Knights and with the Warders. We ought to be able to work something out, I'd need to talk to the immortals.

Anyone interested, drop me a line! Or Habbakuk, he's the real power behind the throne.

A minotaur nation would make sense to me, in all honesty. But you need a Charter, and an immortal to back you up. And a purpose for existing - most minotaurs end up clanned. Need help with any of that, let me know!

This idea can easily be achieved through good roleplay in the game, and i don't feel it neccessary to incorporate any OOC aspects. We all can remember some mediocre attempts at this. Circle was one, i think Solan had some true knights type thingie? Long time ago . . . but if you wish for a minotaur type fraternity do so. Roleplay a minotaur as such. Find like minded minotaurs in the game and discuss it.

Side note. I feel there should be a 'role' function similar to description. Any DoE players will remember this idea. One would add to their role just like a description. It can be seen only by immortals to ensure you are sticking to your role, or to interact with you better.

Gather members in-game, rule them with an iron fist.
Need support on forum - I don't see any problem in advertising/discussing/... your organization here; when there appear some active organizations - I'll create a dedicated board for them, or maybe even a section.
Also, if you write a good backstory - in can be placed on site (just contact me or Habba).

Hey hey! I'm alive, just sans computer at the moment! (Actually, just got it back a few hours ago, with a bunch of stuff removed, stupid unknown error...)

And Cael is alive, just not being played at the moment
Actually, with my latest character ("Solan the male half-elf" is alive again ), I'm thinking of starting an organization too that has a basis in Dragonlance novels...see in-game for details

But I'm definitely still alive! Just haven't been able to appear recently at all, and won't be around much for at least a few days now, while I recover stuff and do more preparation for holidays.

They had been beaten and enslaved by dwarves, crucified and worked by Ogres, and even taken and ordered around by the frail skinned humans. No more, that age of dishonor is over. The age has been reborn anew. The age of Minotaurs, we will walk the land in power; the lesser races will feel our wrath, our fury, and our revenge. The Human race will be exterminated, the ogres our captives, and the rest to our enjoyment. We will not just be the stories of a bedtime to frighten the children, but the words on every ones mouth as we crush their cities, homes and useless temples. We are the Minotaurs…

Um . . . you can do much better than that. Minotaurs would rather die than take orders and quite frankly there is not much that sets these minotaurs apart. Find an aspect of uniqueness for you band. Off the top of my head a crew of minotaur pirates? I'm suprised noone has ever roleplayed a pirate minotaur as that is a primary occupation in the books. Your band has to set itself apart somehow or else it will be bland and lack any unique qualities . . .

What about "good" minotaurs?  This seems to focus on more the evil sect (neutral at least).  Since at inception, minos can be good, neutral or evil, I would think you would want a group that would allow for all paths, not just the seemingly evil ones.  But, the focus on power and recognition is not a bad start.  I think you want to make sure that path does not differentiate whether one can become a part of this.  But then again, maybe you do...
