- Please no drama, no toxic stuff etc. Respect each other. Let everyone play and enjoy.
- Respect legacy of Solace: roleplay.
- Strictly follow ALL RULES.

Consider clans closed for now. Write a role indicating you'd love a certain clan; you might be inducted at some point (don't worry about your level).

Coming soon: a solution for solo mages level grind. Multicharring is NOT allowed (see above about following all rules).

Cheers!

This is not my idea. Its Kolin's quote below.
Quote
Side note. I feel there should be a 'role' function similar to description. Any DoE players will remember this idea. One would add to their role just like a description. It can be seen only by immortals to ensure you are sticking to your role, or to interact with you better.

I can only add that 'role' wll bring much more RP in game.

Lets discuss?

Some time ago, I believe we've already suggested it, but heard only some phews in response. If you support the idea, post your opinions.

I strongly support this idea myself. Just like I supported it when I still played.

It came originally from CF, was borrowed by DoE, and thanks to some internal conflict was rejected from Solace just because it was used in DoE Smiley

We'll implement it shortly, I believe.

Why make things more complicated?

It's not. Role is like description in my opinion. Necessary.

I disagree. Its cannot be necessary only for RP purpose.

Hmmm? I merely meant that Role was like Description in that both are integral to a good RP. Crazy not to implement such a small thing that will diversify so much.

But role can be changed too often. Why not use description to describe persons character and his main characteristic (so called role)?

No, no, no, and I am sure others will agree, description is just your appearence. You should never be giving your life story in a description. Purely visual. In this way you can have a deceptive appearence when coupled with role. Example: Described as a very hot elf. Role, however, reveals in fact you are a dark elf, sorceress seductress type.

Base example, but you get the picture of how much more variation can be created.

As well, a role SHOULD change. Just like the character itself a role evolves with the characters experiences and when pivotal moments occur the role would be amended.

I am sorry, it seems i was deceived by help book for description :

'Your description should describe who you are, your personality, your beliefs
and what you look like.  Actions and clothing worn are unacceptable as
parts of your descriptions.  Also, your description should be at least one
to two paragraphs in length. '
'1. What your character looks like. Include the following: hair color,
hair length, eye color, skin tone, facial hair, height, weight, manner,
demeanor, how you carry yourself (proud, vain, arrogant, etc.), body type
(skinny, slender, thin, large, fat, plump, etc.), and so on. Height and weight
do not have to be exact amounts.

2. Your character's race and partial background. If you are a dark-elf,
why were you outcast from elven society? It could be because you wanted
to study necromancy. If you are a half-elf, was your mother raped in a war,
or were your parents married?'

But this could be an old downdated help though.

I have always been told to avoid your past etc. . .  maybe i have been wrong this whole time? Seems still advantageous to seperate though.

How can you tell a persons role by looking at them? And I agree that roles can change. Like, and elf is path of light and does good etc etc but somewhere along the line of her travels, she meets a dark elf and falls in love with him. Her role then changes. Or she meets a minotaur and falls for him. Crazy I know but who can tell what role you have when you first start out?

When you are a child, you want to be something crazy, but when you grow up, your role in life changes.

I think this idea obliviates rp. How is someone supposed to rp a liar and cheater, when they are tagged clearly for all to see as a liar and cheater? I say make it viewable only to imms. But then, ones ideals are not set for life. Someone may stive for knighthood, but then find it is not to their liking and join somethings else, or join nothing. Things change.

Certainly role can be viewed only by Gods, and it can change during lifeline of the char.  Wink

ONLY immortals can see role. Everyone can see description. And don't just reply that role is useless if only imm's can see it. With increasingly active immortals that we seem to have there will definately be better interaction.
