Someone makes an attempt to cleave an elven archer in half.
Someone cleaves an elven archer into to bits of bloody flesh!

must be

Someone cleaves an elven archer into _two_ bits of bloody flesh!

Umm... Im not of a english speaking country (as all can notice due to my poor grammar) but i think both sencences, the one you posted and the original are correct, they only have different meanings..  :P  but hey what do i know  ???

Leave out the to and the two and just ... cleaves into bits of bloody flesh. OR into bits of bloody elven flesh.

Bloody hell. THat was an ELF!!!  :D sorry
