i thought that throw lags opponent so he cant neither flee nor use special skills...
btw throw 100% ground control 100%
was in Python style

As far as I understand, throw lags you and your opponent for the same amount of time, so when you are able to do your next throw, he either has a chance to flee or make any action before you throw again. Otherwise that would be a great owerpower.
Thats how I see it, but better to ask someone more experienced :-)

Bull s**t! Bash - maybe yes.
But throw with ground control should be much better!
It was almost impossible to flee from shadow assassin in Python style with mastered throw and ground control (sure if you are not minotaur with 20k silver in inventary and without protective shield of couse)...not speaking about cast or do something being throwed and controlled.  And it was not overpower.

Andrey, forget about old Solace. Old Solace is no more. This is a new MUD, with different balance, different areas, and so on. If you know everything better, go and create your own MUD. Like the former MeGa bUildEr Sargonnas.

And now a small comment to the log. Two assassins in python style could probably hold to death. But surely an assassin is not a match to fighter in an open combat. Why didn't you dirt him instead of casting holocaust? Why didn't you use all your powers? Surely, this is a mistake.

No , thanks, all I can do  is -  to give advices.
I'm not a programmer.
I think I shall express opinions of the majority if I shall tell that all here want to see Solace as it was before last PWIPE...at least as nearest as it possible.
Becouse many of those who is playing here now, are under influence of nostalgia.
But as longer as i play here as clearer I begin to mark diffirence with old Solace, and that not brings me other feeling except a regret and disappointment.
I'm not sure that those feelings will make me stop playing current solace.
I would say even that - NO, I will continue to play here, but only untill some other, more nearer version, will apear. ( And I think, it will soon or later appear. The example with DOE is before you.
While there are dissatisfied people - there will be all new and new projects such as current, until the old Solace will not revive.)

So my advice is to make this solace as nearer to old one as it possible from begginning. (or any other more nearer version of Solace will replace the current)

PS: It is just my point of view.

They were making DOE for more than 1.5 years. And it is not even close to Solace, and never planned to be. Old Solace will not rewive, until Chemosh decides to open it again. Also I receive too many whines from you and your kind. Just to remind you, we were opened less than three months ago.

Cause holocaust may blind, poison, weak + damage.
Cause I didnt expect SUCH damage from backhand.

Speaking of assassins and there concentration on stealth,
could you please change human assassins favored stat to dexterity? It seems more in tune with the whole "Stealth class" idea that you have pointed out as the theme of the assassin class (away from say... a martial artist)

IFAIR in old Solace (1st & 2nd wipe) backhand did same hard damage. It was considered as overpower and lowered later. I think it's really overpower to do such damage with direct skill.

such damage appears VERY rarely, imho no need to change it.

Heh. As we see in the log, your usual hits was about DISEMBOWEL-MANGLE, and your backhand was DEMOLISHES-DEVASTATE - it seems like a x2 multiplier. Also I bet you have not very good mace... Anyway IMHO it's quite overpowered to deal such DIRECTED and NON-PARRIABLE and as I know NON-RESISTABLE damage on each round. Even if you do demolish instead of devastate.

I think such skill must be directed but deal less damage. As it's not physcal damage (at least in old Solace it was), and can't be parried. Maybe damage like from usual hit. It will be enough.

He too speaks about old solace ...
And i believe that about 90% players here all dreaming about recovering this OLD sweat solace.
So try to guess who will stay here when a more closer Mud will open, and if you will continue doing your project less solace-like. ::)

You right. I spend about 5 years playing Solace, and I would be pleasured to play something that appers to be quite similar to old Solace. Of course new implementors will brings some new ideas and will made new world. But I think most players would like to see something similar to old world. Look at Dawn of Eternity where all areas are new and almost all code was rewrieted. I don't feel myself there quite good. And simple comparing number player here and there would say a lot about what everyone want to see. Something like old Solace. With old clans, old areas and old tactics. It surely will bring luck and success to this project.

Isn't it nice to be able to be here, as new Solace is being built, so that your opinions and advice on how things should be implemented can be heard and have some weight, rather than in the old one where nothing was likely to be changed? BE happy for what you have  :)

when the solace appears, and trust me it will....i dont expect everyone to come, cause many people agree with kiri on unique mud, but i am hoping to have all ex-solacers that want old solace back to come to mine, but that is only a hope. I respect that kiri has gone out and done a unique-type mud, because its what he wants to do, but i want old solace, perhaps that is reason why i am not an immortal on his solace now, haha

I have to agree.  I like others here miss the old Solace but, to be honest I am really digging this new one.  There are a lot of things that were not on the " O.S." that I like.  I played "O.S." for like 6 years, and it was by far the best mud I had played, but this "N.S." that Kiri put together is growing on me.

The thing I like quite a bit is how fast the immortals are with fixing problems, and fixing problem characters.  I'm sure you have all read the logs and posts on here where the imms have already banned people that were making trouble.  No offense to Chemosh but, do you recall how toward the end the imms just didn't seem to give a s**t?

And for those of you that have posted ideas or even read the ideas here, how fast have they been implemented or responded to as to why they weren't?  Pretty damn quick if you ask me.

Anyway...thats my 2 cents so I'm going to leave on this note...Hey, at least Palanthas is the same right?  ;)
