1  Solace II / Logs / Re: heretics and that magical item crap again on: November 02, 2004, 01:16:39 am
I'm trying not to wade in too deep on this one. You have feelings about how Heretics should be, I have feelings about how all clans should be. Sometimes our feelings don't match up, and I'm ok with that. Until an Imm decides to step in and say something we'll just have to live with differences.

Post Script: Long time ago, Fordus told Heretics they could weild such items that granted haste and such abilities.

I don't think it's cowardice to not steal back powers when there are three against one, but I also think under no circumstances should unclanned people be brought in to help. If you think it is neigh impossible to take back powers at the time, then wait. Can we get an official ruling on this please? For the future of clans and how they shall be run, if we can get something from Imms. Once again, thank you all very much for your time.

Ok, twas I, Khorag that was utterly destroyed here by them so I thought I'd throw my two cents in.  My concern over goods helping evils was second nature to my concern over non clanned helping clanned in re-raid. I appreciate the talk with them, I thank you for your care in the matter Imms, but can we get a definite clarification on whether or not it is allowed for non-clanned to assist in clanned matters? I don't know about others, but any time I go for retrieving powers, taking powers, or defending powers, I've always done so alone. If I'm in a group even, I leave my group members and ask them to wait for me until I'm done. I thought that this was just a part of being in a clan to do so, but if I'm wrong, that's fine to, I'd just like to know. Thank you again.

I wore the flame of the tower, true, this was when I thought it was just a powerful mace, I didn't know about it's secret "magical" use. I've since lost it, so I guess that doesn't matter. Neither I, nor Ydobb, or Austin wore the medallion of Mishakal, for it was destroyed for the goals of purity. What I don't want to see is heretics reduced to using practice maces and newbie gear. If you want heretics to use weapons that won't use and acidic bite, freezing bite, or any such weapon, then all people will focus 100% on physical damage reduction and we will be reduced to nothing.  We realize we are in a clan, but also try to realize that we are playing a game just the same as you, and we don't log into the game saying "Hey, I think I'll log in and let someone kill me today so they can feel good about themselves".  If the goal is to get rid of anything that could be considered magical for Heretics I'm fine with that, but in return, give us MANY more non magical weapons(and armor), and the ability to cut VERY deep into physical damage reduction.  I don't need a mace with freezing bite that does MASSACRE if I've got a smashing weapon that does the same while bypassing the physical reductions.

P.S. Please keep in mind these are just my opinions. I don't wish to upset anyone, I just want everyone to realize we are trying to enjoy Solace just the same as you.

Dalamar has stated that he was taking over the leadership (temporarily) of the tower. Sending any application to him would be your best bet.

I know there are people out there who love Solace as a game, and have no problem with the Immortals (or even if you do, you are able to convey that problem in an adult manner). If this be the case, then please send Chemosh an email explaining just that. Maybe if we have enough people do this Chemosh will attempt to only ban those people who make such problems instead of closing this wonderful game.

9  Solace II / Common Discussions / Re:Do you wish solace to be closed? on: August 27, 2004, 02:09:06 pm
Oh dear god, don't you realize why it would be closed? It won't be closed because the Imms suddenly realize that everything in Solace has come to a completion. It will close because they feel that they no longer have any desire to keep the game open when the only thing they hear from players in the game are comments like the one you just said. Is it so hard, is it such a difficult thing to voice your disagreements in a civilized manner? I'm sure the Imms can understand that not everyone will agree with their point of view. We've grown men and women in this game, they can understand that you might not like something without people resorting to calling them "dickhead Imms". So please try not to resort to pre-adolescent insults in order to get your views of disagreement across.

P.S.  --- Imms, please realize that not every player of solace is like this. Solace is a great place and we really hope it will stay open.
