Nothing special here, teleport always works like this. It transfers you into a random room, and the room can be anywhere even in the World's Edge or Netherworld. Players use it sometimes in PK when they think the situation is awful, concerning that it's better to die from a creature than from a player, because your con is given one more chance and your items return to your Temple.
