Is it ok for 2 people to play at the same time if they are on a LAN network? cause i have a network, and i want to play, but my brother is always playing, and i dont want our IPs banned.

each computer has its own IP address so there shouldnt be a problem with both computers being logged in at the same time.

If an IMM did approach you about it I dont see why he would have a problem with siblings playing at the same time.  If he still didnt believe you you could just ask him to observe both of you and he would be able to see you were both moving independently so you couldnt be one person multi-charring.

I think it has also been said that you are not to group together.

Yes, the official line is that you are not allowed to group together.

Of course, it's your choice, but now you've been warned Wink

one thing that might be good to point out:

although its true that all computers have a different IP address

I have a wireless network that allows 3 different computers to connect to the internet.

When they are connected, they all display a very similar IP to whoever or whatever happens to be looking at it. This is similar enough for the code on some MUDS to detect it as MULTI-CHAR. I do not know if this is the case with Solace, but it might be wise to check with an IMM first before trying to play.

Yes, there's a command for Imms which lets us see anything from the same host or ip, and we can also see all the IPs. However, there is no insta-ban on people playing from the same IP - if they are grouped together they will be informed that this is not allowed but outright denial is only for extreme cases.
