I checked out the outcasts skills/spells and imho they really need something else... This is not a new discussion, i remember a post that suggested new outcast spells. My proposal is different: I suggest giving them some well known spells/ skills, not to powerfull, but that make a BIG difference later in the game. Knights can brandish staves, i dont see why outcasts should not. I see them as powerfull magic users (they can eaven apply to the tower) and that is more a reason to not only give them staves, but wands and scrolls as well. A Orb can do a outcast a marvel, dismissing the need for a lot of coding a many new skills. I also propose they get faerie fire/fog (either one). As i see things, Outcasts NEED the first hit, and enemies they cant see (theifs, assassins, rangers) are therefor impossible to kill. Give them at least a chance to put a aura on the opponent.
Well... this is a change... suggestions to outcasts ranger then knights. Well, thats all for the day

Stickin to the topic... hell ball is very nice. Sleep almost useless, rarely pierces saves. In ancient times outcasts could do nothing at hero pk, since they rely too much on spells and saves almost neutralize outcasts. They have very few skills to use.
Bash/trip,   recovery works TOO well, all who do not have recovery are immune to bash(mages/clerics) or damage too much(rangers, knights). Fly potions are too easy to get.
shield cleave(useful against clerics and some knights only)
lunge(useless)
cross slice(useful only on rare occasions, since defense is too low)
shove(almost useless, succeeds very rare)
cleave(imba instant kill skill!)

my suggestion - rename outcasts to antipaladins(or redo all helps and outcasts' rp and allowable races. Draconians/minoses oucasted from knighthood?Huh )
Give them some hell/devil/demons/black magic  oriented spells.
Give them a pair of lagging skills and/or spells.

the flipside is that outcasts don't really need any more power on low-mid ranks, perhaps these proposed new skills could be higher up, hmm? (perhaps its just that I tend to die to outcasts when we meet, which isn't often since I don't play much)

 as for the thing about enemies you can't see, a lot of people have that problem... next thing you know the rangers and fighters are going to be asking for a  "faerie fart" skill or somesuch and hide and invisibility will be almost useless.

 Ohyeah, what has happened to all the nice outcast manuals... are they still around and just ridiculously hard to get? (There WERE nice outcast manuals, weren't there?)

Well, rangers and fighters dont rely on striking first as much, and arent half mages already.
And about the bunch of changes to outcasts, i think they are unnecissary. I just propose to add a few basic skills, as above. true they are dependant of the enemies saves, And also true their manuals are very good. I think a outcast with no manuals might be a bit behind other classes, but this makes up when they get the books (oooohhh yeaahh) blood of innocents and rape of angels kick ass. I like the class and to me its coerent that the dark knights are hard to play, and to be powerfull you have to find and kill for a bunch of books. Complement the saves dependancy with feats like empower spell  and just learn to think like a outcast.

I have played outcast for a time long enough and this is what i have to say after it:
True that outcast is good at low level.For example i was enjoying in pk till rank 18.Nicely find low levels in troll forest or obsidian castle while they level,enter in 3 man group and make a bunch of them,kill 1-2 ,third would prolly flee.Blind curse disarm bash etc.
That s why i think to make outcast char,and level him only to rank 17-18 ,no more and to enjoy in endless pk in troll forest.
Why not pk later?
Because everyone become unkilleable
knights got wrath and protectorate,clerics got sanc,
mages freaking spells etc.
Outcast could be strong if clanned
But i wonder why it is removed manual of nightcloak?
Maybe it is overpower for outcasts?
