imho powers of mage and powers of fighter should differ
for example knights of the skull (clerics) have a bit another powers

as i know they dont have blood ritual and chromatic ward
but have dark presense and insight (or something like that)

There could also be something about them getting empowers
Having their Dark Mistress grant them powers to use in her name is one thing, but a mage praying directly in combat is quite another
As I understand it, Takhisis granted the Grey robes additional power and benefit (like using swords and being trained in their use and all), but the power was all in the form of their spellcasting, not from prayers.
